"You're engaged through an arranged marriage, my dear sister." Clark started walking towards my direction, reaching his hand out to me. The tears were forming in my eyes as I yearned for my brother's comfort.

I gave my brother a tight hug and he said, "It is okay. Honey, nothing is going to happen. Open your eyes and look at me."

I pushed away from the hug and realised Clark was wearing a black suit with a maroon bowtie. He smiled at me. "You look so beautiful."

I pushed him away. He was wearing a normal tee a moment ago. "Why are you-"

My mouth closed when I found out everyone in the room was wearing something formal.

I looked down to see myself wearing a gown. It was sleeveless, lace, off shoulders and crystallised wedding gown. The train was at least a two-metres long. My hair remained long and untied.

I turned back but Clark was no longer there. I was now facing the solemniser and my vision was covered by the sudden appearance of the veil.

"You may now kiss the bride."

My so-called husband lifted my veil and I could not tell who he was. His face was hazy and indistinct, showing no eyes or mouth, just a blurry grey patch of someone unknown. He was going to kiss me.

"NO!"

I opened my eyes and realised I was staring at the ceiling in my room. I quickly sat up and absorbed the surroundings.

Yes, this is my room. This is real. I'm not getting married. I'm not in a gown. I'm on my bed.

The door slammed open, both Zen and Clark came running in.

"Harley, what happened?!" Zen was grabbing my arms, trying to get my eyes to look into his.

Clark came over and placed a hand on my head. "You're worrying me, Harley."

I looked up at Zen and remembered that I was actually engaged to someone else. The recollection of me fainting came back to me. I felt a tinge of guilt as I stared into Zen's concerned expression.

"Clark, do you know who am I engaged to? Did she mention?"

The both of them looked at each other as if trying to avoid this topic in front of me. Clark nodded and sighed. "She did not. I was only told it has been finalised and the fiancé is coming over for dinner tonight."

My fiancé.

Zen was surprised, "He's coming for dinner tonight? But she's not in a proper state to meet anyone!"

"Zen, I have no control over my parents' decision. Do not raise your voice at me." Clark was clearly stressed out from it as well.

I grabbed on to Clark's wrist. "I'm fine. I also want to know who has the ability to make my parents sell me away."

"Harley, don't make it sound so horrible. You're my sister, I will help you at all cost."

I smiled to reassure him. Can I even get myself out of this mess?

I just confessed to Zen a few hours ago and this had to happen to me. Now just looking at Zen makes me guilty. I was indirectly hurting him by accepting what my parents wanted.

I have a feeling my arranged marriage is for the benefit of both parties. Nothing can make my parents disagree something that can be an advantage to our family business.

I'm not surprised that they would "sacrifice" me. They already made Clark the next successor of the company but he took his time learning how the business ran. Sometimes, he even escaped the lessons. I guess I just have to wait for tonight to get my answer.

The doorbell rang and Clark went down to answer it.

"Why are you avoiding my eyes, Harley?"

"I'm not." I lied.

"If you're worried about me, I'm fine. I trust you. I'm sure I'll end up being your actual fiancé."

I smiled, "You will be."

A knock came through the door and Clark entered the room. He looked more upsetting and worried than before.

"Our parents has just arrived. I'll settle them. Zen, take care of Harley and make sure she looks less pale than she already is before she comes down for dinner later on."
