By the time I arrived, I left fifteen minutes to walk to my first class of the day. The time left would only be just nice for me as the route to my class was like a maze. I ended up being the last to enter. Luckily Ms Rain wasn't in class yet.
Glenn and Zen looked up at the same time and I caught both their eye contacts. I could not face them as I was not ready. I looked away, only to remember that I sat in front of Glenn and diagonally behind Zen.
As I walked towards my seat, I avoided looking at Zen. But with Glenn just sitting behind me, I had to face him right on. I smiled back when he smiled to me.
'Don't treat me like an enemy.' Was all I could see from his face.

Very soon it was lunch time. Seems like I'm going to hang out with myself today.
As I was about to walk away from my seat, Glenn came forward. "Lunch?" I was sure he said it loud enough for Zen to hear it, unintentionally.
I made sure I replied loud enough, not shouting, though. "Sorry Glenn. I need to be alone today." He smiled and nodded, giving me space to walk. I walk off without turning my back to look at Zen.
I found an empty table in the cafeteria and sat alone. It felt so empty when the table was meant for ten students. I looked at the risotto in front of me, barely having much appetite to eat. It was the first time I ate alone in school. I felt dagger-like stares at me, and a sudden strange presence behind me.
I turned back to see a macho guy in a black suit, wearing shades indoor. "Hi? May I help you?"
"I'm Eric, age 25, a trained martial art ex- "
"Sorry but this isn't a matchmaking session. I do not need your full background information. What I want to know is, why are you guarding me?"
"Glenn was worried about you, so he sent me to keep you company. Or in other words, protect you."
"I need no protection. You may go back to him."
"Sorry to say, he also said that if you are going to ask me to get back, I will lose my job. So, I'm not leaving."
Where was the peace I wanted? Which part of 'I want to be alone' was hard to understand? It was very clear to me that Eric was not going to move an inch.
"Very well, sit next to me, Eric."
"I can't. I guard and it can only be done by standing."
"Sure. I shall ask Glenn to fire you then."
"Okay, I shall sit."
That was easy.
There was a moment of awkward silence before he spoke. I was playing with my lunch and he was staring intently at my every action. "Madam, please finish up your lunch."
"Please call me Harley. You made me sound three times my actual age."
"Har-, Miss Harley, please do not make things difficult for me."
"Try punching me then. I will listen to you after that."
He kept quiet and turned away. I assumed that was to give me my private space, though I was just 15cm away from him. He was only a few years older than Clark but he looked like a teenager. A huge muscular teenager.
"Eric? Can I ask you a question?"
"Go ahead, Miss Harley. Anything."
"How is Glenn like at home?"
His face turned into excitement as he was about to start talking. Imagine a handsome sour faced man suddenly smiling to you. He looked way too excited to talk about Glenn.
"He is the best young master I have ever protected. He is more than nice and gentlemanly. He is caring, loving and cheerful. Even when he is sad, he will never show it to anyone. His smile will hide every pain he felt. He went through a lot of hardship but never loved anyone. You are his first and I hope you will be his last. I had never seen him so happy before." Eric smiled to me.
I looked around to search for Glenn and found him chatting with his male friends. He sat at a place where I can see him straight on. At that moment, he looked up and smiled at me. I turned my head back and blushed. He was so charismatic, that any girl would fall for that killer smile.
I continued chatting with Eric about his beloved young master and found out Eric is a Bi, he loved both genders. He was nice to talk to and I told him I won't mind him being my new best friend.
He excitingly agreed but in a manly way. He was more to the manly side but has a small bit of girly in him. I came to know Glenn trusted Eric the most, like a best friend since young. As we were still gossiping, Glenn came over, sitting on my other side.
"Harley, are you okay? You turned away almost instantly when I smiled at you. What happened to 'Don't treat me like an enemy?'?"
"I did not ignore you. Look, I'm talking to you right now."
"Uh huh. Was Eric giving you a hard time?" Immediately, Eric stood from his seat and went back to the position where I first saw him.
"No, he is great. Though I must say, what happened to 'I need to be alone today'?" I smirked at him with my hand under my chin.
He moved closer to me, reciprocating my action. "I can't leave you alone, my dear."
He was so close to me that I could feel his minty breath. His eyes were an alluring blue, his lips were calling me. His broad shoulders tempting me to cuddle into his arms.
He moved slowly towards me but I placed my hand on his mouth. "Do not even try to do anything silly, Glenn Xander."
He pouted and made his lips touch my palm, giving a light kiss to it. "You think too much. I just wanted to arrange your hair. It's a mess." He started going through my hair with his fingers, combing through every frizz. He did that while gazing into my eyes.
I blushed instantly. Shit, I'm getting nervous. I felt stares roaming around my body, I smelled jealousy around me.
"Okay! That's enough, before all my hair drops. It is time for class!" I smiled at him and went to pull Eric alongside with me, leaving Glenn alone.
We were a distance away before Eric whispered to me as I dragged him to the next class. "Miss Harley, I saw that blush." He chuckled. I shy away and quickened my pace to avoid the topic.
