I stood there, utterly speechless.

What was his motive? Now that I'm sure who's the person I love, this had to happen? I felt like a toy being manipulated. I cannot believe Glenn will be such a person.

He placed down his wine glass and was already walking towards me. Without greeting me or asking how I was, he held my hand, greeted Zen and pulled me by his side.

I turned back to see Zen still stunned by Glenn's presence, paralysed in his spot.

"Glenn, what's going on? Why you?" We were walking towards our parents as if going to a bunch of predators who were already eyeing on us.

"Who else? I told you before, you will be mine. No matter what happened between you and Zen. You look so beautiful by the way." He smiled his brightest smile at me, his gaze gentle.

I struggled to pull my hand away but he held it tightly between his arm and chest. His muscle tensed upon every move I made. He felt foreign, not the Glenn I knew before.

He moved in close, with his face touching mine. "My dear fiancée, stop going against me. It's not going to be nice when our parents see this." I could hear his smile between the words.

He's right. Being rude to another family of importance takes a larger form of an apology than just a "sorry" itself. The more I go against him, the more I will be forced into this marriage.

I have no choice but to play along.

We all gathered at the dining table. My father sat in the centre seat. To his right was where Glenn's father sat and beside him was his wife. To his left, Clark was next to him, then my mother, me then Glenn. Zen sat opposite of Glenn, showing a poker face which I'm unable to guess it myself.

I caught Zen's eyes and gave him a look of assurance, but he just replied with a nod of his head and looked towards my father as the latter started his speech.

"We, the Levin family, welcomes the Xander family to our humble home. This is our wonderful daughter, who will also be your future daughter-in-law, Harley."

I stood up from my seat and gave a small bow. My father continued, "I'm very happy to know Glenn is a nice gentleman and I'm more than willing to give my daughter's hand to him. I'm sure he'll make my daughter happy."

Glenn stood up, "Yes, I definitely will." He smiled at everyone, lastly, at me. His parents looked so proud of him. This is going to make it harder for me to reject this marriage. Gosh.

"And the guy opposite Glenn is Harley's good friend, Zen. We invited him to dinner since he's like a family member to us. As her best friend, he should know who she will be engaged to. In case he is overprotective of her." My mother laughed. It was not even funny but the rest followed, except Zen and me. He was extremely down, never even tried to smile.
