Everything between us was okay. It wasn't good, but it wasn't bad either. We had finished our debate yesterday, without ending up in one of us leaving. But everything wouldn't be the same as usually.
Brad wasn't at his usual. Yesterday he was comepletely drained from any kind of motivation. He wasn't joking, he wasn't really looking at me, and he certainly wasn't talkative. But we made it up anyways.
I missed the time where everything wasn't so complicated. Right at the start, where we didn't really know each other. Only smiles, no tears.
"Maggie, your phone's beeping." My mother opened the door with my phone in her hand. I stood up from my bed, taking it.
"Thank you." I said quietly.
I open up the message to se a unknown number sended me a photo with two boys kissing. I look at it, discovering it was Kyle and some other guy. Was it true? Has he been lying to me this whole time. I instantly think of Bradley.
Was he trying to convince me he was gay? Did the apologize mean nothing?I walked out of my room, wanting to go outside. I felt cooped up. This couldn't be happening.
"Maggie are you alright?" She asked from the kitchen.
"Yeah." I said, with a lump in my throat. "I just need some air." I managed to say without sounding like I was gonna cry. I refused to look at her, just opening up the door, walking down the stairs.
I tried to go into my contacts, but my vision were already blurry from tears. Luckily he picked up quickly.
"Mags?" His voice were surprised, but of course it was. Or he acted it to be. I couldn't believe him.
"Why did you do that?" My voice were shaky. I walked out of the stairway of our apartment.
"Do what?" Bradley sounded confused. He was so unbelieveable.
"Send that picture. I-I thought..." I breathed in. "I didn't think he was.." I couldn't say anything the way I wanted to. Tears were streaming down. I wanted to believe it was photoshopped, but it looked so real.
"Fuck, why are you crying?" His voice sounded the way it did earlier the day he apologised, only a bit more worried.
"Because... you, you send.." my voice cracked.
"Hey, calm down. Tell me what it is." He said through the phone. He sounded more and more real, making me wonder if it were him. Who else would care?
"Did you-" My crying stopped my voice from making a full sentence. "Did you send the picture?"
"What picture?"
My cheeks were red, warm tears rolling down. It just wouldn't stop. Crying is becoming more and more common to me. But so is Bradley comforting me.
"Do you want me to come?" He asked a bit unsure.
"I don't know what to do." I almost whispered, trying to catch my breath.
"Tell me where you are, I'll come." I told him I was outside the apartment.
As I waited I tried to calm down, but I couldn't. Kyle was lying, but I wasn't in the mood for talking to him, telling him that everything was over. I was tired. Tired of everything lately. The only thing I wanted to do was actually seeing Bradley. I wanted to get Kyle out of my head.
Not long after his black car parked a little ahead of me. Before I could do anything, Bradley stepped out of the car, walking towards me.
He didn't say anything at first, he just wrapped his warm arms around my body tightly. I did too, not really thinking about everything that happened. I sob into his chest, closing my eyes. "I'm so sorry." I cried out.
"Don't apologize." Bradley mumbled into my hair.
I said nothing, I just kept on crying whitout knowing why I didn't stop. I almost couldn't stop. "Shh, Mags." He brought his hand up to the back of my head, brushing my hair.
"I'm here." And I was happy he was. I didn't know what to do if he wasn't.
I tightened my grip around him, wanting to feel nothing else but him just comforting me. He kept on brushing my hair.
"Try to calm down, alright? Then tell me what it is." I took some deep breathes, doing what he told me.
I took out my phone, showing the picture to him. He took it looking at it with knitted eyebrows.
"Fuck, do you know who send it?" He stared at me widening his eyes.
I shaked my head. "I-I thought it was you."
"Why do people keep taking pictures like that?" I looked up at him.
"I don't know, Mags. But just don't... don't worry about it, alright?" He pulled me close to him again, wrapping his arms around me.
I could hear his heartbeat. "Don't let it get into you." He said, but I knew it was gonna be, I just didn't say anything to him.
