when did we stop caring
stop giving a shit
harden our hearts
only see a tiny bit
of the world around us
when did we stop seeing
look the other way
put on blinders
stumble through the day
ignorant of all the fuss
when did we stop hearing
simply cover our ears
hum a song inside our mind
so we just don't hear
the sorrowful pleas for help
when did we ...
stop
and
only think
of
ourselves
