family dinners are such a treat
its not like we can get together
every week
so, on special occasions
the excitement's there
to have the whole family, together, here
the smell of turkey and stuffing
cranberries,
cheese sauce,
and pumpkin pie
everyone sitting together
at the table
brings a tear to my eye
especially ten minutes later
after the first cell phone rings
my wife and i spend the rest of dinner
eating and watching
the others text messaging
