its a cold rain
thats falling down
as i see the last lights of town
fading away in my rearview mirror
i say goodbye
to the life i had
it wasn't all that bad
but here on this highway, things look clearer
it was time to go
nothing left you know
just a suitcase full of memories
out on the open road
i hope to unload
and find out just who i'm supposed to be
i have no regrets
did the best that i could
i only wish she would
see things the way that i do
but we just grew up
drifted apart
deep in our hearts
we both understood, we were through
it was time to go
nothing left you know
just a suitcase full of memories
out on the open road
i hope to unload
and find out just who i'm supposed to be
who i'm supposed to be
