i tried

even the best laid plans

can go up in smoke

and sometimes failure

can turn you into a joke

and there will be times

you simply want to quit

cut your proverbial losses

to the naysayers, submit

you know what i say

i'll keep going until i die

i might not always succeed

but at least i tried
