This house is huge. I started to get hungry in my room so I decided to go find the kitchen. I felt like I was Indiana Jones trying to find the treasure in the jungle. I can't get over how big this house is. "Aha!" It only took me about 30 minutes but, I found it. "What do I want?" I open the fridge look to find any leftovers or something. "Can I help you?" I deep voice asks. I bang my head on the fridge and look at the man. "Um, I'm just looking for food." "Of course." The man said, he was dressed in a tailed tuxedo and his hair was jelled back. "What would you like?" "Um, a sandwich would be nice." I sit at the island in the middle of the kitchen. "What kind?" "Ham?" "Why are you saying that like it's a question?" He raises an eyebrow at me. "Because I'm not sure if you have it or not." "We have everything." "Oh" I start to spin on the chair I'm on. I stop and start to see that the man is shaking as he try's to get the bread out of the bag. "Here, let me help you." I take the bread bag and get the bag. "You don't have that." He backs away confused. "Ya, but I want to." I smile back at him. "You maybe there servant but, you're not mine." He smiles back at me finally. "Do you want one?........." I pause not knowing his name. "Harrison" He helps me out. "And sure." "Ok, my name is Maddie by the way."

After we were done eating Harrison showed me the rest of the house and let me meet all the other workers. The gardener, maid, and the chef. Harrison is totally my favourite though. The last place he showed me was the backyard after that, I grabbed a bag of popcorn and watched TV in my room. "It's getting late" Harrison warned me as the moon was shining through my window. "Thanks" I smirk. He shuts the curtains and shuts off the lights. "You didn't have to do that" I tell him. "It's my job." "No, you don't work for me. Treat me like......." "Like? A daughter?" Harrison said that and a chill went up my back I haven't heard that word in the longest time. My parents died in a plane crush when I was 10. I've been alone ever since. It was a nice thought though having a ad again. "Sure Harrison like I'm your daughter." He walks slowly back over to me. "Goodnight." He kisses me on the forehead and tucks me in bed. "Goodnight."

It's been probably about another two hours since Harrison tucked me into bed. I couldn't sleep though. I'm in the nook in my room looking out the window. "Are you still awake?" Derek opens my door. I smile back at him "sadly, I am." "This might help." He walks over to me with hot coco on his TV tray. "Oh ya, feeding me sugar when I want to get to sleep, that makes total sense." I laugh and so does he. "I like hot coco at this time of night! Don't make fun of me!" He nudges me. "That was a long rehearsal" I take a sip of my drink. "Ya, sometimes there short sometimes there long." "Oh." "For some odd reason Emily kept messing up." I roll my eyes, Emily seems a little odd to me. "Which is odd for her normally she's really good." "Do you think Emily likes me?" I ask. "Ya! She wouldn't stop talking about you for the rest of the day." Ya, was it good stuff though? "Oh, I see. Are you dating her or something?" I ask "I wouldn't call it dating." I nod "Do you guys sleep in the same bed?" He gives me an odd look like 'why do you care/it's none of your business'. "Um, yes." "Then I would classify that as dating." He starts to laugh "ok then." "Well, thanks for the coco, but I should head off to bed." "Ok, goodnight." Derek get's up and leaves. Once the door shuts I run into my bed, I wait until his shadow disappears to shut my eyes.

I kiss Harrison on the cheek when I pass him in the Kitchen. "Morning Harrison." I say as I poor my cup of tea in the morning. Emily looks at me like I'm weird from the dining room table. "What's on the agenda today?" I look at Harrison again. "Well, Derek has another class today and I don't know what Emily is doing." "I don't have any plans." She rips a piece of bread and puts in her mouth. "Well, I guess I'll go site seeing." "Great idea!" Derek says as he walks into the kitchen. "Harrison, bacon and eggs for breakfast please." Harrison nods his head. "Emily can go with you." Emily's eyes widen. "Um, I don't think I........" Derek cuts her off "You girls can go shopping, get your nails done, do whatever girls do" Emily and I lock eyes. It looks like she has fear in her eyes. "Sounds fun!" She puts a fake smile on her face. "Great!" Derek seems so happy, but I have no clue why. "I'll go get ready!" Emily pushes past me to head upstairs.

We're all walking out in the drive way. Derek is the first to pull away. I wave goodbye but of course Emily shouts "I love you baby have a good day at work!" She blows kisses and goes the whole nine yards. "Ok, lets go." She say's in a sassy tone. "Um, I can tell you clearly don't like me and you clearly don't want to hangout with me. I'm not going to force you to do something you don't want to do." "Thank god!" She gets in her car and drives away. Almost running me over may I add. I put my hands in my pockets and start to walk into town. I send a quick text to my best friend Natasha.  "Hey, heading into town meet me at Mexicali Taco & Co." Mexicali Taco & Co. is our favourite restaurant in LA.

"Hey!" She waves at me when I walk through the door. "Hi!" I walk over to the booth and sit down. "Why are you in this part of town?" She asks "You live in the other part of the city." "Ya, I used to I moved yesterday." "Your closer to me now?" "Yeah. You're never gonna guess who I'm living with though!" "Well, if I'm never gonna guess you might as well tell me." I start to laugh. I miss thoughs kinds of remarks from her. "Derek!" "Derrick from grade seven? Then Mexican that we were friends with? The Derrick that was a little crazy?" I start to laugh. "I haven't seen that guy in like forever!" "Then which Derek is it?" "Derek....Hough!" Her mouth drops. "You're living in his house?" "Ya, but, not the point." "I can see it now! Maddie Hough!" I roll my eyes "more like Emily Hough." She started to look confused. "Who's that?" "His girlfriend." "Oh" "Ya, she's a b**ch!" Natasha rolls her eyes and takes a sip of her drink. "Have you found a job yet?" She asks. "Um working on it, I'm still just a dancer working with Derek Hough in his dance class." "Have you met any cool people yet?" "No, this all just happened  yesterday!" Natasha nods "Wait!" Her eyes light up. "I met this really amazing dude named Harrison." She raises an eyebrow up at me. "He treats me like I'm his daughter." "Ok, I'm just guessing this guy is not attractive, and he's not in his 20's." I start to laugh. "Correct, he's in his 75's to 85's. He's the butler." Natasha starts to laugh. "Your friends with a butler?" "Ya, well we have stuff in common and he's funny. Plus he's nice!" "Ok, ok." She's still laughing but, it's coming to an end. She looks at her watch. "S**t!" "What?" I look at her rushing to get her coat on. "I totally forgot I had to pick up Mya up from soccer." "Ok, go get her." As she's just about to leave I shout. "Tell Harry and the family I say hi!"
