After a week, Clarissa has observed something more again. But the whole week was safe, and fine, and good to them. Jake and Clarissa were doing their wedding preparations right inside the house of the Mullens. They were currently doing their invitations, now, to the wolves. She read the name written on the scented and colored paper, and that name made Clarissa once again remember Alex, her best friend who was lost for over half a year already. "Hey, daydreamer." Jake grinned as he stared at Clarissa, who was helplessly resting her hands on the table, and her eyes were staring at the floor. She was continuing what her mind was thinking, didn't hear not even a tiny sound.
"Hey, Rissa. Earth to Clarissa." He now chuckled, and began shaking her body gently. "Huh?" She moved, and blinked rapidly, her eyes adjusting to the reality. "What are you thinking? Alex?" He asked, again read her mind. "Yeah. You don't have to ask, since you've got that incredible ability." She spoke, and went to the ribbon. "Yeah, yeah. That careless and heartless Alex who didn't even mind to visit you." He said to himself. "I heard you." She glared at him, but eventually laughed.
"Are you sure 'bout this, dear?" He asked her, and gazed as he gestured his head to the invitation Clarissa was holding. "Trying ain't wrong, Jake. Who knows he could return here right now and he could finally see that we'd be marrying each other." She made her voice high. "That's what I like about you, my Clarissa." He half-whispered, and wrapped his left arm around her shoulder. He kissed her cheek. "The next, next day will be the best day of my life." He whispered again to her ear.
Clarissa smiled perfectly at him, then gave a kiss to his lips. "Hey, are you guys finished there? We should really measure your body for the dresses." Cara suddenly asked that made the two stop. "Yeah, we're coming." Jake answered, then smirked looking at her. "I doubt your Alex will come." He told her that made Clarissa roll her eyes at him. "Then you do, handsome guy." She smirked. "Anyway, let's go now. Fashion designer would be mad at us." Jake stood then went first towards the door.
She followed him, theme going straight to a wide room, discovering her best friend, Vanessa. Who was sitting in front of a sewing machine, with a tape measure wrapped around her neck. "I am extremely excited for what my design will look like on you." She stood, looking at them. "I'm feeling the same thing." She replied quickly, grinning as she walked near Vanessa.
She measured her whole body, and took note of it. Several minutes later, it was Jake's turn. "Can I see the sketch? If you have." Clarissa asked, sitting to the nearest chair. "Oh, I'm sorry. But, it will be a surprise." Vanessa gave her a smirk. "You're probably gonna see it on the day of our wedding." Jake told her. "I'm just gonna go check up on something." Cara gestured her head, then walked past the door. Then all of the vampires inside the room heard Cara's voice screaming Vincent's name.
Clarissa knew it wasn't the first time she left. She has observed that she kept on leaving, as if she was going somewhere private. But the good thing was that she was always accompanied by her brother, Vincent. The only thing she was wondering was why they were always leaving. And some part of her brain told her that it was hopefully a good thing. Therefore, she was having mixed feelings about Cara. And so she ignored what her mind was again thinking.
She saw Elizabeth entered the room. "Are you sure everything's ready? The invitations, the party.." She said as she entered. "Don't worry, ma. Everything is." Clarissa answered. "Oh, my daughter's going to be married." She said, giving a proud look. "Gonna be Mrs. Mullen in two days." She grinned. "I know right, sis. In just a glimpse, we're mothers." Vanessa said as she started sewing. "Lives do change." Clarissa said. "I wonder how long will I live." Vanessa joked.
"Excuse me, we're immortal. Have you forgotten already?" She stood to inform. "Of course not. I just want to spend my whole life with Luke and my future children."
"How many children would you like to have, darling?" Lucas suddenly appeared, standing at the door. "Were you listening to our conversation all along?" Vanessa frowned. "Uh, maybe. How many children would you like to have?" He repeated his question. "Three would be good, that's all." She scratched her nose. "Anyway, gotta go and do something important."
"What're you gonna do?" Clarissa curiously asked. His eyes widened, as if he was nearly getting caught. "Oh, I'm just going to build something." The corners of his mouth opened, and his eyes kept on traveling sidewards. "What're you gonna build?"
"Some baby materials." Vanessa suddenly answered her. "Anyway, we have to confirm everything for the wedding." Elizabeth stood, and exited the room.
