It was the next day when Vanessa was finally awake, with her baby locked in her arms for almost a full day. Her eyes were unbelievably at her son, and her face was bright, the grin that didn't even once leave her as she gazed. She and Clarissa were sitting on the swing, making the baby fall back asleep again. "So this is the feeling when you have a child."
She just smiled, but she was feeling something strange deep inside her. A different feeling that wanted her to be like Vanessa, or in general, wanted her to have a child already. She couldn't stop it, was nagging her day. She doesn't know the reason why, but it came suddenly, like a lightning flash in her mind. But, she wasn't ready yet, to have a child.
How could that be? Those things on her mind kept her from talking, turned her to be silent. And that was obviously noticeable by the only person sitting beside her. "What's the matter, Rissa? You ain't talking for this whole time." She said slowly.
She blinked, and looked at her in confusion. "I'm sorry. My mind.. It's full of things." She answered quickly. "Like what, Rissa?"
She sighed, and decided to admit it. Thought it would maybe, calm her down and lessen the feeling. "I don't know. But I want to have a child." She suddenly said. "Go on, sis. There's nothing wrong about having one. I don't disagree or something."
"No. It's just that I'm not ready." She said, now looking at the view. "Why not? Is it because of Chris again?" She guessed. The baby suddenly cried, then the mother shushed him by swinging the wooden chair again and humming. "No. Not him, or anyone. Something's just wrong with myself." She shrugged her shoulders as she spoke. "Look, if I were you, I'd ignore those useless feelings. If you really, really want to have a child, then go and have one. Those are just feelings, Clarissa. Feelings."
She tried to think about it. She was right, those were feelings. Although she knows it wasn't that easy, she has to try to be stronger. "Thanks, Nessa." She smiled, tapping her shoulder twice. "Don't mention it, sis."
"By the way, when are you and Jake going to the place?"
"I don't know." She replied. "If neither of you don't, then I'll be the one who's gonna decide for you." She smirked. "Since we all ain't busy for tomorrow, then I suggest you'd be leaving Grezsatly tomorrow." She said with confidence. "I think that is a great idea, my friend." She smiled, then winked her eye. "Aye, it is." She grinned. "Then, perhaps going to that place will ensure that there will be a new one?" She asked, hoping that Clarissa got her point. "Let us not think about that," she stood. "I am going to go and pack my things." She added, then went away, leaving the mother and son together.
As she entered the house, Jake was suddenly there, blocking her way. "I could sense enthusiasm." He smirked. "Stop it, mindreader." She replied, trying to go sidewards to avoid him. "Well then, I guess the man is more excited than you are." He said, then stopped from blocking her way then just followed her instead. "Are you sure that we're leaving tomorrow?"
"Actually, I want to leave whenever I want. But since Vanessa is the boss and the one who decided for the both of us, then it'll be the next day." She told him as they both climb upstairs. "I could only say, that's a good idea." He said.
They opened their cabinets, reached for the clothes hanged, and put those inside their baggages. "I wonder how the people there look like." He said with his low voice. "They have yellow hair." She replied, folding a dress. "Like Americans?"
"Precisely. But they're called Greek." She said. "How would we talk to them?" He asked, stopping his movement just to talk.
"The English language."
"What time are we leaving?" It was her turn to ask now. "Probably by morning." He answered, continuing his task. "Five o'clock?" She raised an eyebrow as she gazed. "Five o'clock, yes." He grinned. "This place is too far from the city. We'd be using our car?" He asked, knowing that she would continue his statement. "And take someone else to be the driver?"
"I so hate you." He said, and she knew it meant the opposite way.
"Let's decide for the baby's name." He added that made Clarissa stare at him again. "Let's do that not now." She told him. "Okay, fine, fine. I'm sorry. I understand you." He said, then finally zipped his bag. "I suggest you should sleep right now, sir."
"Yeah, you too, ma'am."
