They at last arrived at their destination. The surroundings were quite different, but the trees obviously never vanished, it was still a forest. But now, they were at a big glade. They slowed down walking. To their front stood the biggest house they've ever seen, and apparently, the oldest. Some poison ivy even crawled all the way up. It were also gray, with small, rectangular windows sticked on each thing that looked like the floors of the mansion. It was entirely made of stones, complete opposite of radiance stood over there. "Is this a castle?" Andy whispered. "I do think so."
Cassie looked at Theresa for countless times, checking if how she was feeling, now that they were in her old home. Lately, she was looking away, but for just once, she looked back. Now, with regret and grief in her eyes.
"The building looks so unfriendly." Andy added as she did. They proceeded walking, with the adults at their front, and another ones at their back. Proceeded even though hostile-looking vampires watched them as they stood at both sides, some even hid in the trees above them when Cassie looked up, noticed that the clouds were cottony enough to be good to them. Their teeth were all vibrating, like hungry dogs craving for them.
All of the clamor had stopped, when finally a group of vampires began meeting their direction. They continued walking, until when they were near, distance was finally necessary, the woman standing in the front drew everyone's attention. The spies went down from the trees, and the ones just guarding the way went nearer their formation. She was grinning as she looked at everyone. Her red eyes growing even more darker as she did. The longer she stared at them, the more scared Cassie was. She was wearing all black, so was everyone. There was complete silence between the two armies, the enemies just giving sharp smirks all the time. "You all finally came." Fiona spoke, breaking the silence. As usual, she was the one to start the conversation.
Fiona looked at everyone, Cassie could notice Andy's shivers. She glanced at him, and so was he, they gave each other the eyes of horrors. "Oh, so there goes the two kids of Clarissa and Jake." She wrongly guessed, the two risking it all to look at her. What a sudden thing, she could see them all the way from there, even though they were slightly being blocked. "You're wrong, Fiona. The girl's only ours, the boy, he came from different parents." Jake corrected. "That's good. Finally, a good sign of perfect marriage and match." She said. As she narrowed her eyes looking at Fiona, when she was busy talking, she had an ominous feeling about her smirk. It incredibly grew sharper and sharper each time she takes a peek. And by the looks, somehow, she looked like her grand-mother. That made her remember that Fiona was also part of her kin.
"So, you're the leader now, Clarissa." It sounded like she was asking a question, not telling. He eyes, the whole time, were always looking at her. Cassie was observing from the back. They were facing each other. "How could you tell?" She laughed a bit. "Well, you are standing there in front, representing your group," she moved her head to look at the whole group, "Not bad, between few and many," she took a peek at her own group this time, "Compared to mine, this is likely to be a win-win situation." She gave another smile. As Fiona looked at their group, Cassie also did, as if she was even being hypnotized into imitating her. Cara standing across her was feeling nervous, something was odd with her aunt.
Clarissa was shaking, fury flowing all around her body. She was annoying, and irritating to her, having a scornful feeling.
"Anyway, I'm terribly sorry for what had happened to Chris, your father. It's a tragedy." She half-whispered, looked at her nails as if it's got dirt. "I'll never accept your apology!" She yelled, her head growing red in anger, she was about to hurt Fiona physically, but luckily, Jake had stopped her, yanking her both arms just in time. "Calm down, Clarissa." Jake told her. Cassie imagined she was in her mother's position, feeling as furious as she felt.
"You've murdered my father! You should be killed!" She pointed hardly. Fiona took a look at the ground, as if she was feeling sincerely guilty. "Yes, I know." She sighed. "Do you even know how it feels, huh? To lose the person you've grown up with?" She was already crying that time, took a step forward to somehow draw her attention. Fiona looked at her with a bit of anger in her face. "Now, finally, you've felt how I felt! How your husband killed his own sister." She raised her voice.
Cassie was just sighing, certainly, she could feel the pain in their words. She had heard Theresa, gasping that made her eyes be attracted to her movements. Theresa's eyes widened, and that time had she only realized what Fiona told everyone. That her father had once killed Theresa, and the most important thing was that she was his own sister. "Are you a fool?! Your daughter is fully alive!" Clarissa snickered after she yelled. "And she's standing right there behind us!" She pointed again, there was still anger between her and Theresa. "What's happening..." Theresa murmured, was barely even heard. Fiona got shocked after she heard it, immediately walked going to the crowd, and suddenly met her daughter whom also came out intentionally.
Fiona had hugged Theresa, they occupied the space between the two armies. She almost knelt, looks like it was the usual thing she does whenever she sees her daughter, but know, she didn't have to, she had grown up. "Where have you been? Why didn't you come back?" She was raising her voice, instead of getting happy for finally seeing her after a long time, she was angrier than that. "And, you've grown up." She added. Theresa took a deep breath, and pointed at the elder. She couldn't speak, couldn't even talk and face her own mother. Fiona was shaking of anger as she looked at the innocent-looking elder standing right behind Jake. The elder suddenly walked in front. "You! You're the one who took her from me!" Her claws had appeared from her hands, and suddenly leaped and moved to stab the elder. "At last, my mission is finally done." He whispered right before he got stabbed. All along, his fate that day was to get killed. And it was as if he was fully aware of that. Even though everyone intended to stop Fiona, perhaps, she was just the quickest.
The elder fell to the ground, everyone began reacting.
