"If you want, I'll be leaving some for you," Clarissa said. "This is good for one to two persons, as I could see." She added. The door opened, everyone saw it because their table was positioned right on the very corner of the restaurant. All of them were guys that had smiles plastered on their faces. But the guy who opened the door was simply Jake, who immediately saw her, and who made her grin again. He waved his hand, saying 'hello'.
The two fathers who also entered weren't even smiling, Clarissa laughed when she saw that their smiles faded quickly. Their looks looked like they were worried about what happened. They walked casually toward the women, but steps were fast. "Tell me exactly what happened." His father ordered as he turned his head, looking for a space to sit.
Clarissa sighed, and surprisingly her mother also did at the exact time. "These young ladies almost got kidnapped inside the club. By men." Elizabeth got her turn to speak. "What? How could you abandon them?" Chris argued, then his upper body got shocked. Clarissa again sighed, tired of his father's behavior. "They didn't abandon us, dad. It was our fault, anyway." She said.
"Even though it was your fault, you still lost your responsibility." He replied. "Chris, if it wasn't that your daughter helped us escaped, then we'd possibly be in serious danger right now." Vanessa said immediately, just when Clarissa took spoonfuls of her ice cream. "The important thing is, we're safe here." Giana murmured. "So, after this we'll go home and take a rest."
She was finally finished, and she was thinking of a thing that was simple but was difficult for her to decide at - whether finishing the dessert or giving it instead to Cara. There were a couple of conversations, but her ears were just closed, and her mind focusing at one simple thing. It was too complicated, but since Cara was hungry-looking this night, she gave it to her instead.
"Maybe we should report it to the police right now." A man's low voice she heard, when her body was adjusting. "No. If we would, there'd be disturbance." Vanessa said. "Nessa's right, we might not control our hunger." Clarissa whispered.
She looked at Cara when the conversation is still ongoing, and she grinned when there were two scoops left. "We'll be leaving this place right after I'll finish this dessert." She said with her mouth full of it. Clarissa stood, and brought out her wallet.
Then went towards the counter, asked for the bills and paid it immediately. She felt tired, though, eager to go home and bury herself under the sheets of the bed. When she returned, Cara was finished and everyone stood, then left the restaurant with calmness. They rid the only car parked in front of it, then Chris was the one who controlled the wheel.
It was silent inside, a couple of yawns she heard. "How was it?" She asked Jake. "The what?" He asked, putting his head nearer hers. "The celebration, the party." She grinned. "Oh. It was fun, lots of women entertained us. Not in a bad way, don't worry." He winked looking at her eyes. "Are you excited for tomorrow?" She asked, changing the topic so quickly. "Of course I am. And I hope you know that I'll be the happiest man in this world." He smirked. "I know, Jake." She smiled, then after that, yawned again. "I see you're tired." He commented. "We all are, Mullen." Vanessa suddenly said, then fixed her position.
There was again silence, watched the neon lights that were still alive through the window. Because of the different kind of tiredness she was feeling tonight, she didn't know that her eyes uncontrollably fell and her head that automatically dropped to the shoulder of Jake.
She fell asleep.
