They actually waited for a few months for her stomach to get bigger, and more accurately, for the baby to complete its development. She had a bunch of check-ups, maintenances with her father for more than twice a month. The technology was somehow developed, like the human's. And so they got to know the gender of the baby soon enough. Now, it was a girl.
She was hanging out with them outside the house, when the weather was just so good, skies were quite clear. It all gave them good moods, made them completely energetic under the sun. They were playing tag, with Andy, who could now walk on his own feet. Without any help, any companion. Somehow, he got more handsome and handsome as he grew each day.
"I'm gonna chase you." He said slowly as he ran to catch Clarissa. "Oh, I'll make sure you won't!" She grinned, and somehow she could run, although she could feel her heavy tummy. And it looked definitely ridiculous, making everyone's teeth appear and laugh. But, just in a very sudden way and time, she just stopped from running. She held her stomach with both hands, and she started yelping. "Ugh!" She yelled repeatedly, couldn't handle the pain inside that stomach that she chose to lay down the ground. Everyone started panicking, all of them going towards her. Andy caught her, and she could see his face went blank, but still happy. The pain inside, felt like someone was trying to squeeze her guts internally. "What's wrong, what's wrong?" Jake asked in a quick way. "What are you feeling, Clarissa? Tell me!" He asked. "It's painful, it really is." She said, barely able to speak.
She was wincing in pain. "I'm gonna call Chris." She had heard Elizabeth said that, but couldn't see where she was. Everyone's faces occupied all the way from the corner of her eye to the other corner. Still, the pain was going on and her yelps and winces didn't stop, never did. Eventually, maybe after several minutes, no one could just really tell when, that she could feel that someone was carrying her, and her back was aching. She wanted to see where she was, or what they were doing now.
She found herself still conscious, she opened her eyes. Her eyeballs went rolling, there she found that Jake was carrying her with all his might, and they were both running to a room. She saw that they entered, and then she was laid on the bed. Chris was there, holding a flashlight. And then her father flashed the light to her eyes, checked something in it. She blinked when it was being flashed to her. "She's good, she's good." He said, turned the medical flashlight off then threw it towards the table.
She was still in pain, she could tell. She saw that in his hand, was a knife that he grabbed from a table full of operating instruments. "We have to cut her out." She heard him say that. She remained silent, just watched. "What do you mean?" Jake asked, unaware of the next thing that'll happen. "Her stomach's in pain. We have to get that baby out of her body right now or it dies." He was slightly mad in his tone. "Please do." He half-whispered.
Whatever the problem was, she was ready for whatever will happen. Chris went in front of her feet, then lifted it so he could begin operating. She felt a bit good, because it was such a miracle that she was wearing a dress that time. "Oh, I feel so bad for my girl." He said right before he started lifting her dress. She felt that her skin was being cut, she again screamed.
"Push the baby out, Clarissa." Chris told her. "Push it out, baby!" Jake added. She obeyed them, she did tried to push it out, at the same time, the screams were just so inevitable. She was imagining that she was trying to get that crap out inside the bath room. The more she did, the more painful it gets. It felt like she was in hell, at the same time in heaven, too.
Eventually, less than three minutes, everyone began hearing something. It was nothing but a cry, a tiny one's voice crying. She was continuing to push it, and stopped when she saw the baby's head coming out of her body. Then, Chris carried it, she tried to lift her head to see her, but she couldn't. She was too weak, and Chris told her not to. He gave the baby full of blood to Jake. "Give her to the girls. Clean her up." He told Jake the instructions then went out, the baby's crying echoing through the room.
She finally stopped from pushing, stopped from screaming in pain. And the pain had vanished, like air. "Are you okay, dear?" He asked her as he removed his surgical gloves and his mask. She wanted to speak, but was surprised she also couldn't. Every part of her body was tired, was paralyzed, almost. She nodded, thanked that she somehow could, but it was too weak that Chris didn't notice. "I might as well go, kid. Have to give you time to relax and sleep. Yeah, just go to sleep." He told her right after he removed every medical material he had. She had to go to sleep, she had to wait until tomorrow. To see her baby.
Her unnamed baby.
