It was all finished, those check-ups and ultrasounds. She woke up the next day, saw that her clothes was changed to another dress, a better one. She felt clean, like someone gave her a sponge bath. But there was no one in the room, just her. The sun. It was shining through the curtains just right behind her. And she missed it, the warmth the sun was giving her. Those effort she exerted, the sweat that came out of her pores were all gone. No one could ever compare the pain every woman would feel when they give birth to their children - that she just realized. And she remembered, she just gave birth to her child.
Speaking of that, she decided to rise from the bed and go out of the room to see her child. She turned the doorknob, but before that she took a very deep breath. Even thought that her life will change the time she'd open the door. She opened the door, immediately looked to her right, and there she saw everyone in the living room. Some of the boys were outside. But the only who captured her sight was none other than her baby, who was locked in Vanessa's hands. They all noticed Clarissa walking.
"You're awake." Elizabeth grinned. "How are you feeling, sis?" Vanessa asked as she looked at her. "Better now." She replied. "Can.. can I carry her?" She asked when she was in front of her. "Sure, sis." She whispered. She grabbed her gently, then carried her. "What a surprise you know how to carry an infant." She commented. "Maybe I got used to that when I was carrying your son." She said, staring at the baby. "Where's her father?" She looked around to look for him. "He's outside there."
They both went there, discovering Jake who was sitting down. And when she did, everyone gave them some space there. "You're finally awake. And strong." He said as soon as she went out. She just smiled as a reply. The longest gaze she had with the baby was when she sat beside Jake. "Such a beauty." She whispered, looking at her face. "I could tell, she got your eyes."
"That kind of big?" She asked, now looked at him with disbelief. "That kind of big. And her skin, snow white." He gestured his head. "I'm just so glad she came to us." She smiled, watched as the baby moved her head a little. She was asleep. "I bet she won't lose her color. Ever." Jake murmured. "Good," she said. "Does she have a name, by the way?"
"We haven't decided yet. Everyone gave suggestions, though. But I told them we have to wait for the mother." He informed her with a beam. "Why not Cassandra?" She answered quickly, even wondered how quick she had thought of that name. It just came out of her mind. "Cassandra," he whispered, looked at the sky. "Cassandra. That's a brilliant idea." He grinned. "That came from the greek mythology?" He guessed, raising his eyebrow. "Well, where do that idea of yours come from? I don't know."
"It just came out in my mind."
"So, what are we gonna do?" She asked him. "What do you mean?" He asked with confusion. "What are we gonna do next with her?" She wasn't sure, though, but she got a lot of ideas. "I don't really know. Maybe we could buy her some more clothes?"
"That's a lame idea." She grinned, somehow. "We've got a lot of clothes for Cassandra. Let's just play with her." She said. "I want her to grow up. Maybe like Andy." He said funnily. "Couldn't you wait? Pretty, please. She just came out of me." She rolled her eyes. He just laughed, then Clarissa hit him hard on the arm. "Ow!" He said, gave her a confused look again. "That's being rude, Jake." She spoke without looking at him. "Especially in front of our daughter." She added the humor. "Yeah, right."
"Yeah, I think she'll grow up in days." He said, nodding his head thrice. "In days?" She asked. "Like Andy?"
"Like any other vampires, miss." He answered with confidence. "Unlike humans, right." She told herself.
