"Sorry for my impatience, pardon me." She coughed for a few times, but then everyone, literally, everyone had noticed something quite bizarre and sudden. Something had came out of both sides of the space, something entirely hostile and unexpected. As soon as the first things came out, the vampires begun smelling a different scent. In a way that tasted delicious and making Cassie eager to feel and taste the smell. "Could you smell that?" Andy asked, sniffing his nose.
Despite the mysterious thing happened around them, they still managed to even grin and talk. She nodded. "This is even better than most of our foods." He laughed. "Do they even come from them?" He added, pointing at the humans invading their place. The grin and conversation had quickly then faded.
Cassie didn't even have time to answer or say her opinion to her best friend, she was just focused on her surroundings and Fiona. She could only guess that the things coming out were humans. They suddenly ran leaping in the air under the glaring sun, avoiding the wild plants growing in front of them. They were wearing checkered, and some had hats on their heads while the others really had not. They hid there.
They ran coming to threaten them, a few humans who jumped the highest and were the fastest came out and went near each vampire, with knives in their hands as their threat. One foot difference for each human and vampire in every corner of their formation. Obviously, Clarissa's was included and threatened. Certainly, the vampires tried to resist from them, tried to fight the enemies, when they made a move, another group of humans came out. Didn't jump in the air, just walked briskly.
No, they didn't have any knives. However, the things they were holding were even bigger. It were in pure black, and it had a point. They were holding big guns that looked like it fitted for hunting animals in the woods. The two best friends had looked again looked at each other, with eyes pure in terror. "Fiona!" Clarissa yelped. "What the hell are you planning to do?" She asked. She looked at her, tried to hide her slight look of confusion and shock at what was happening. Changed it to a smirk.
"This is a trap, isn't it?" Her eyes became big. "That you've murdered my father, to let us die of anger and make us avenge his death to you?!" No one had an idea on what she was talking about between the teenagers. She just gave a smile, and a stiff nod that barely wasn't visible to anyone but herself. "You absolute savage!" She said painfully and angrily, due to that she intended to go near her and give a slap or anything else violent to her. But, her arm was yanked by a human.
"That's enough!" The man who yanked her said, he had a low voice. Looked middle-aged. "Enough for the drama. It's time." He told everyone. "Time for what? Didn't we make a deal?" Fiona complained. "There is no deal, Fiona." He shook his head thrice.
"Wait!" Vanessa carelessly interrupted them. "What is going on? What's with your deal? Why couldn't you tell us what's happening? Don't tell me you're going to kill each other soon, too." Her statement barely was understood, she had a lot of questions in her mind, affecting her physically that made her say those words at the same time. "If wolves will be coming to help you in this battle, then humans would be helping us too. Like I said, a win-win situation." Fiona had managed to remain evil-looking, even though there was an obvious misunderstanding between them. Vanessa sighed, that wasn't the answer she was asking for, she still wanted to speak, but later realized it was useless anymore. "We don't own this world, Clarissa. We're just acting like we do own this. That's why this happened."
"You all are the reason of the biggest problem on Earth. You killed humans, and every living thing. You are born in darkness. And to that, hunters have become existing. Every man standing on this ground only represents a family that once was happy and complete. And now was turned to just, a memory. You've turned them into memories! Because of you, whom consumed animals rapidly and selfishly, humanity might be eradicated. Obviously, we don't want that to happen. We only hope for your sincere understanding." He spoke well-heard.
Cassie didn't actually expect for him to explain such thing, based on how he looks he really looked rude and fierce. But this was the only time had she realized that you don't judged people by their physical features. Karma had quickly came back to Fiona, she were definitely betrayed. "But, we aren't even the ones who did that! The vampire you only should kill is Fiona!" Vanessa defended, she looked extremely argumentative.
"Vanessa, you can't stop them anymore." Lucas whispered stopping her. "We don't have any proof to what you said. They're just stronger than us." Jake sighed. "What about our deal?" Fiona annoyingly nagged that made them stop from speaking. The human looked totally irritated. Something was wrong, maybe, with her mind. "There is no deal, Fiona. You've been betrayed!" He now shouted. "That's unfair! You are unfair! I've told you everything on how to arrive in this secret place."
She was again mad. The human, just laughed, found it amusing. "Do you really think that we trust you? You are a vampire, Fiona. Remember that. And a vampire signifies satan." Those words were just overreacted—he were. Of course, if you'd be compared to satan, who wouldn't get angry? "That's too much!" Jake angrily said.
Cassie tried to look at the nearest human to them, he was young. It was obvious in his face he was just forced to be there, he was a bit scared, she thought about it, making her think that maybe every man remaining were really forced to be a hunter.
The human began walking to the center, looks like he was giving an important speech. "From this day on, vampires will finally be eradicated! This is our chance, everyone. Be your most violent and cruelest." He finally showed his smirk.
"I think this will be the end." Vanessa was taking deep, fearful breaths. As if they were her last. "We have to do something!" She finally expressed how she felt. "What can we do?" Jake asked. "We have to stand still and fight them." Clarissa half-whispered.
"No! We're too few." Vanessa quickly panicked, took a quick glance at the people behind her. "And I can't risk everyone to die anymore. The two deaths are enough." She told her. "What about it, Nessa? What do you even mean and want to tell me?" It was obvious she was already stressed out. "That we have to be allies with Fiona even though they're enemies."
"What are you talking about?"
"A'right, I think it's just right for you to talk since it's gonna be your last meeting." The human said, watching them.
She ignored even though the man was still speaking, she still talked. "If we don't stand to be one, then Cara and the elder died for nothing. We should make it like they really died for something, like on purpose."
Vanessa didn't really wait for her response anymore, didn't care anymore if she still didn't get her point. But of course it'd be better if she did. She faced Fiona. "Fiona, these humans will destroy our existence sooner or later. And I know you know that. We will all fight them, but look around you," she waited for her to do it. She folded her arms, and just moved her eyeballs.
"We're strong with our extraordinary, unique abilities, yes. But turns out, they're many, hundreds of them are standing here, surrounding us—they're stronger than us. And we're weaker. You want to win? Be with us, let our groups fight as one."
"Are you telling me that we have to be allies?"
"Exactly, Fiona. If you want to lose and just die, go on, fight on your own. I just said my opinion, and I think this is a clever idea."
