It was the afternoon, when Clarissa was only sitting down there on the couch. While staring at the air, she saw that Cara was walking, then suddenly her eyes rolled over, then she bent down and picked up something on the floor. She saw as Cara stare at a white envelope then looked at her. "It's for you." She said from a distant voice. Then she stood, then went to get it.
"I found it here under the door." She said as she gave it. "Thank you." She whispered then went back to her seat. She put her legs up, then finally opened the envelope, revealing a white paper. She unfolded it, then discovered a thousand words written on it. It was a letter.
My dearest Clarissa,
I know you've been finding me, and that you're worried. I just wanted you to know that I'm doing very fine. I have also heard that you and Jake just got married, and I give you the best wishes. Congratulations! You chose the right man to be with you. I know you have lots of questions to ask right now as you read this letter, but I could only tell that I'm somewhere in this world, having fun with my friends. Please don't find me, because you never could. Just be patient, my Clarissa, I will come back there to visit you. And I know that when I will, I'd just be surprised to see a family. Take care, Rissa. I love you. -Alex.
Those inevitable tears streamed down on her face as she read the letter. She felt worried, mad, and unhappy. She knew that her best friend was somewhere, finding him would be pointless and a waste. Alex was indeed right, that she could never find him. And so she decided to follow what he said, to not to find him and to wait. But despite those things she was feeling, happiness never left her expression. She also did feel good, because she already knew that Alex was doing fine.
There was Jake who noticed her reddish eyes, and her wet face. "It's Alex." He muttered. "What's he telling you?" He added. She first sobbed, then spoke. "He knows that we got married." She answered. "And what do you think is he feeling when he heard the news?" He asked, his eyebrow raising. "I know Alex. He's filled with fury." She said. "I know the reason why he doesn't want to come here." Jake said, biting his lip. "What is it?" She asked curiously. "He needs time, Clarissa. To move on."
"You're right."
There was Lucas who joined them in the living room, with a baby now in his arms. "Is he asleep?" She asked. He smiled, then nodded. "Could I carry Hans?" She stood. "Of course you could, Rissa." He replied. She grabbed him carefully, then carried him.
"He's quite heavy," she said, then sat down. She looked at the baby, who's eyelashes were long. "He looks more like you." She commented. "Yes, he does." Jake said, looking at him also. She fixed the white cloth that warms the baby. "When will his mother wake up?" She asked, looking at Lucas. He looked at the kitchen, then talked. "I don't know. I hope right now or later."
"Clarissa," he called. "I just wonder. When will you and Jake have your honeymoon? Or have a baby?" The volume of his voice was lowering. She grinned, they both did as they looked at each other. "This woman isn't yet ready." He replied.
"Yeah, I'm sorry." She admitted. "It's okay, I understand you," Lucas smiled. "By the way, Jake and Clarissa," he said. "I almost forgot that Vanessa and I have a little gift for you two." He said. "You both are going to Greece." He excitedly told them. "Are you serious?" Clarissa's both eyebrows were raised, her eyes widened too. "The most serious person of the day." He said jokingly. "It's my dream to go there!" She said, and her voice was too loud the baby almost woke up.
"Oh my gosh, I'm sorry." She whispered, then tapped the baby repeatedly to let him sleep back. "I'm gonna hug the both of you later." She whispered to Lucas. "When could we travel there?" Jake asked. "Anytime until the next two weeks." He replied, crossing his legs. "How long will it be, Luke?" She asked. "I think we paid for 'as-long-as-you-want'." He smirked.
"Does that even exist?"
"No, of course not. We will pay for the days you stayed there." He replied. "So, does that mean that the longer we stay, the higher our bills will be?" Jake asked. "Obviously. But that doesn't mean that you go there for just a day. Go and enjoy yourselves. Don't worry about the bills. Don't worry about us." He told them quickly. "You guys are the best."
"You don't have to tell it. It's already obvious." He smirked. She looked at Jake to talk to him. "I'll leave you guys here. I'll just check up on Vanessa." Lucas said, then went away. "Let's see.. If Vanessa's okay tomorrow, then we'll leave." She told him. "I thought you're not yet ready?" He grinned. "What, you don't want me to be ready?" She joked. "No, of course not!"
"Then we'll see." She finally said, then looked at Andy and smiled.
