"You have those rare powers in your blood simply because you're connected with the elder." He said, took a seat again beside his house. "Why didn't they tell me?" She half-whispered. "You don't have to know everything, Clarissa." He informed her.
"What about her?" She asked, pointing hardly to Theresa. "She's going to stay here without her mother knowing it?" "Yes, she is. She will." He answered.
Soon after, Clarissa faced her daughter and husband, wiping away her tears on the face. "Let's go home." She sobbed. "What a moment." Andy whispered to her ear, and Cassie shushed him.
After they went far away from the elder's village, they were walking to their home with no one speaking at all. They were trying to recover from the big revelation. Most especially, Clarissa, still, her head almost dizzy with questions and thoughts coming around her brain all at the same time, it were all spinning. She broke the silence, finally. "You don't know how dangerous it is in this forest." She said, just moved her head a little. The kids just looked at each other, but no one responded.
"A part of this forest is extremely dangerous, believe us or not, it's full of hostile enemies. Owned by none other than Fiona." She told them, her butt swaying as she walked in the front. "Your mother and I know that the two of you are very hard to teach values, in terms of your safety. What else, your curiosity is too much." Everyone knew it was time for Jake to talk. Cassie grinned, followed by Andy, no one could deny that fact. Clarissa stopped from walking, turned her back to face them.
They were going to talk in the middle of the forest.
"Our point here is that whenever you two dwell in this place, just be careful. We don't know, this thing's full of mystery," she looked around. "Cassandra, use your extraordinary skill." She told her, her look giving a serious command. "Isn't it that you could block any power?" She asked with a high voice. "Probably." She replied, smiling. She looked at her friend now. "How about you, Andy?" She gave a smile. "Do you have any ability?" She asked, raising a brow. "I hope I have." He shrugged his shoulders. "You should tell your parents about it."
"I will, aunt." He nodded. Clarissa grinned, messed his hair a little bit when she put her hand on his brown hair, rubbing. And so, they continued walking once again. Several minutes had passed when everyone was hearing some strange footstep noises jogging.
They were still moving, ignored the noise. But when they noticed that the noise suddenly was growing, everyone panicked. "Everybody be wary." Jake said, his eyes widened as he looked at everyone. They have formed a circle. Andy looked at Cassie, gave a look asking what was happening. She just gave a shrug, didn't have time to answer him. The louder the sound, the more curious and scared Cassie was. As it grew louder, it also came closer. It was then that they have seen a group of guys jogging along the way.
As if their feet were gigantic enough to make those strange noises, echoing.
Clarissa has sighed, everyone breaking the circle quickly. They still froze in place, watching as the guys jog toward them, giving the same look - confusion. As if they were literally, frozen. The guys kept on jogging, but stopped when the distance of the two groups finally were near, the man in the center stopped, followed by the remaining ones, where everyone was able to see each other. She stared at the guy who was different from the others, he was shocked, and perplexed. He was looking directly at the person by her side now, her mother. Giving a sign by his eyes and looks. She ended the stare at him, her eyes went to Clarissa.
She wanted to see and read the message within their minds. "Clarissa?" He sounded like the most shocked person ever. She grinned, mouth was so wide it reached her ears, almost. She was the happiest. She walked slowly, eyes were glued at the guy, without even seeing her steps. Cassie had heard her father sighed. "What's going on here?" Andy curiously whispered.
"Let's just see." She whispered back. "Alex, it's been a very long time." She happily said. She got the answer, they knew each other. The guy looked at Clarissa from head-to-toe. "You became fatter, Rissa." He grinned, found it was amusing. She looked at her own body. "Really?" She didn't believe it, but still was grinning. She covered her mouth, didn't believe he was standing right in front of her, and it was real. But, less than a second, she had put down her hands. "She gave birth. To Cassandra." Jake finally spoke, gesturing toward the kid. Alex looked at him differently, disappointment and irritation were still going around his eyes, though he was struggling to hide it. "So," he walked closer to her. "You're Cassandra?" He raised an eyebrow.
She gave a stiff nod, but smiled. He bent his back a little to reach her. "How old are you?" He asked her, took a quick look at Clarissa, trying to find any answer. "She's a pure vamp, Alex." She said as she watched the both of them, Cassie couldn't get her point. "I don't know." She replied just after she finished informing him. "Maybe, seven." There was no certainty, sounded like it was a question. "Seven." He nodded his head, then straightened his back. Now looked at her parents. She honestly had expected that guy would introduce himself, too.
"How about the other kid? Is he the brother?"
The both shook their head. "I'm Andy. Son of Vanessa and Lucas." He suddenly said it all. "Oh," He raised his finger, it was a fact. "It all came at the same time. What a surprise." He said to himself.
"Come with us, Alex. Have a cup of tea." She said excitedly. Cassie could guess they were close friends in the past. He looked at his friends behind him. "Sure, I would be glad to." He answered, words weren't genuine at all. "Great, come with us!" She cheered.
