Clarissa, Jake, Lucas together with Vanessa were all taking a walk again in the forest, just feet away from the house. No one really spoke, just focused on their walk. And eventually, everyone noticed that there were groups of trees lined altogether. As if it were man-made, covering a mystery behind it. And Clarissa saw it, laughed at the fact that they were possibly near, and that no one really noticed it. But after she did, Vanessa talked. "Alright, close your eyes." She said, holding her hand to guide the way. "The both of you, guys." She added when she saw that Jake didn't. "We should've brought them blindfolds, Nessa."
After that, no one spoke again. They were really near, Clarissa could sense. The sounds of their footsteps grew louder, as she could feel it was made by those dead and fallen leaves. She never opened her eyes, not even dared to peek. Even though she was already being tempted to. Didn't want to ruin or spoil the surprise. But she was already guessing. Maybe they would be showing another incredible view, that was all. And she was wrong when they asked for them to open their perfect eyes.
"Alright, open up." Lucas told them. When they both at the same time, they directly looked at it. As if they knew where those angles were. Their jaws dropped, their eyes staring at the perfect view. It was a cabin house, perfectly built, it was made out of shiny woods that were really chosen and picked in a specific place. The house looked wide inside, with a green roof covering it.
Two windows in both sides, one round door at the center. "Are you guys gonna stand there all day or are we going inside?" Lucas grinned, almost laughed again. "H-how?" She asked looking at him, but realized it was too quiet and so no one heard it. The small group of four went inside, with Vanessa opening the door for them. It was another beauty inside, it was even better than what the two has expected. Straight from the entrance, they could see the living room.
The tiny sofa facing the western part of the wall, and a plasma tv sticked against the wall. She went to walk around the room, touched the tv, with her eyes full of astonishment. And to the north were two wooden doors. Jake and Clarissa opened the first one. "Good choice opening that thing." Vanessa commented, watching them. "That guys is your room." Lucas said when they entered it. There was a bed, beside it was a small table and a lamp resting on it. It wasn't quite wide, but the two looked contented. Then, they exited the room. They had to open the second door, and the two looked at each other, with excitement in their eyes. "Don't open that up, it's just a comfort room." Lucas joked, and the two took it seriously, didn't even notice that it was just a joke. Vanessa nudged him, then glared. "Don't listen to him! Go on and open it up!" Vanessa told them.
Clarissa grinned, then Jake turned the doorknob.
They didn't believe what they actually saw. The walls were white, everything was. She covered her mouth, completely disbelieved what she was seeing. The room was wide, wider than theirs. There was a white, wooden crib to their left. And then sets of different toys all over the place. There was even another bed across the room, just a small one. It was really meant to be built for a small child. "I can't believe this." Jake whispered, his eyes still wandering the place. Clarissa didn't respond, just looked when the other two went inside. "We made a room for the baby, thinking that when you both will come back home, there will be another one." Lucas explained, his hand resting on the crib. "And we painted this place completely white, who knows what the gender is." Vanessa thought to say that to make them laugh, just a little would be fine.
"This is too much, guys. Thank you." Clarissa said, her face was a mixture of joy and sincere gratitude. "You're always welcome." She replied. "Can I ask you guys a question?" She added. "What is it?" She smiled. "Who built this?"
"All of us did, Clarissa."
"Well, that's cool. And I won't ask where you got the materials anymore." She grinned.
"Yeah, you won't. Anyway, we might as well leave the two lovebirds alone." She added as she gestured her head. "Wait, we're going with you to get our things." She chased when they walked. "Open your wardrobe, it's all there." Lucas informed. They both looked at the thing, it looked like it was occupied already because it was ajar. "Oh." She said with her face inspired.
Then they left, leaving the two definitely alone. "I really couldn't believe that they did all of this to us." Clarissa spoke as she looked around the house. Even the walls, were painted perfectly, no one would really believe that they built the house just by themselves with their bare hands without even hiring a single skilled person there. "They absolutely deserve a lot from us," Jake muttered, sitting on the couch. "This is really, really comfy chair." He added, letting out a long breath.
Clarissa just grinned, as a response, then sat there joining him. He placed his hand around her, then her head leaning on his shoulder. "This is perfect." Jake whispered. "I know." She replied, closing her eyes.
