"We don't have any problem." He replied in his low voice. "You're lying. We both have a problem." She told him. He finally looked at her. "Why are you asking that, Clarissa?" He asked. "We just got married. And we haven't talked since that time when you asked me how the kiss was." She explained. "And wait, I know now what the problem is. You're mad at me for refusing the honeymoon." She guessed, thinking that she was right. He was silent, didn't reply. "Isn't this about the honeymoon, Jake?" He nagged. "Refusing the honeymoon? It's a strong word. Why are we even talking about this, Clarissa? You should give me time to stare at this crap and sleep." He said with his anger that was too overflowing that he accidentally told those words. She almost talked back, but realized it was too pointless that she shut herself up. She turned, then went towards the bed and again sat, leaned her back on the headboard. She covered her face and again wanted to cry.
She felt bad for him, she even thought it was the happiest day of her life, but then it wasn't. She described it as a normal day. But marrying him was never a bad choice, it never was, she knew. Meeting him wasn't either. Jake was a very different man.
She put down her feet, then stood and walked. She looked at him, and Jake exchanged glances with her. She watched him drop his cup on the table. They both rushed to hug each other. "I'm sorry." They whispered at the same time. They wanted to look at each other and talk, so they had to end the tight hug. "I'm sorry, Jake. I'm sorry. I wasn't just used to this." Her words kept on cutting. "Used to what, Clarissa?" He whispered. "Us not talking to each other. This is a strange thing, Jake. I wasn't just used to it," she said. "I'm sorry, babe. I'm sorry." She repeated. "It's okay, Rissa. I'm the one who should apologize." He said, touching her face to wipe her tears. He took a deep breath before talking. "I have to be honest. You are right, I am too impatient for the honeymoon thing. I just couldn't wait for us to have a vacation together in this wonderful world." He explained.
"It has to wait," he finally realized what Clarissa feels. "Just tell me whenever you're ready, baby." He said, then gave a kiss on her forehead. Later on, they were found lying down together on the bed with their eyes closed.
They were woken up by some strange screams. "What was that?" She whispered to herself. She again tried to hear it, her eyes opened. "It's Vanessa." Jake replied. Clarissa's eyes widened, then immediately got up from the bed. "We should go down now!" She said with panic. "You should go first! I'll catch up, wait." Jake said, got up from the bed then they both exited the room. The screams continued as they traveled there quickly using their vampire abilities, discovering everyone who was surrounding a door. "It's Vanessa. She's giving birth." Giana told them. "Could we go in?" Clarissa asked, gesturing her head.
"I'm not sure. The room is narrow because that's where the medical equipment are stored." She answered. "Are you guys telling us that this exact time isn't expected?" Jake asked. "She should give birth on eleven o'clock. But she's too early for an hour." Cara answered. "Is it a bad thing if it it's an hour early?" Clarissa asked them. "No one knows, your father only does." Vincent shrugged. "Who's inside?" She asked, and had so many questions to ask. "Lucas and your mother." Giana replied.
Still, the screams continued, but the Mullens just waited for them to go out in the kitchen. After half an hour later, Elizabeth went out, with a baby in her arms wrapped with blood. "Help me clean him up!" She yelled. Giana immediately stood then helped Elizabeth, they both went to the comfort room and cleaned the baby, the sounds echoing.
When the door was open, Clarissa was too inquisitive and worried that she entered the room. Lucas was standing up and was watching Vanessa, with her eyes closed. "How is she, dad?" She asked. "She's fine, kid. Just gave her an injection to let her have a long sleep." He replied as he removed his surgical gloves and threw it. "Cara said this was an hour early. Is it good or bad?"
"It's fine. But if we were two or three hours early, it depends, he may have to be in an incubator." He answered. "C'mon, let's give the time for her to rest and sleep." He told them then left the room.
