She was inside the bathroom, about to take a bath. She remembered her husband's advice, to go check it - whether she was pregnant or not. And then she did check it. The feeling of anticipation just got vanished after she closed her eyes. It all got away, so quickly and so suddenly. Without any movement, a tear fell down across her face. But, she tried her best to ignore it.
She had to take a bath, could sniff her own bad smell. She showered her hair, then her whole body. The bad feeling came back to her mind, why was she even thinking about it? She got out of the room, the emotion was so much obvious. She was trying to hide it, but her smile was obviously a fake one. And it only meant one thing - it was an unreal smile, hiding her sad feeling.
"What's wrong?" Jake asked as he watched her close the door from behind her. "Nothing, Jake. Nothing." She replied, remembered that he has the ability to read her mind. And so she cleared her mind, closed her eyes and focused as she walked.
"Trying isn't a bad thing, remember that." He said, and barely finished his statement when he moved like a lightning flash to catch her when she stumbled. "What on earth are you trying to do? Playing day or night?" He said seriously as he helped Clarissa stood. "Yeah, maybe." She grinned looking at Jake. "Hey, don't you laugh there! Nothing's funny." He said in a more serious way. "Jake," she stared at him, eyebrows meeting. "It's not a big deal. Try to understand the sarcasm here. I'm just being humorous, trying to forget that thing."
"Trying to forget that thing?" He repeated and frowned at the idea. She sighed thinking if she would lie again, Jake might read her mind. There was no point lying. She has to admit it completely. "Well, yeah. I thought that if I become funny, then maybe it would somehow let me forget that I failed it. The pregnancy test." She finally told him. Jake smiled, as if he was happy to hear the news. "Clarissa, it's fine. We have to wait. Who knows, it might come to us soon." He said inspiringly.
He was right. There is always hope. And there, Jake came back to his spot, Clarissa continuing her task - to wear clothes. "Jake, do you know what place we could visit right now? Like, a near one right now?" She asked after she got changed. "We visited everything. All the good places those guides showed us, I think those are it." He guessed, and it might be possible.
"You may be right," she said, sitting beside Jake in the chair. "If that's the case, then what else are we doing here?" She asked, hoping that Jake would think it wasn't another sarcasm at all. "Yeah, what are we doing here?" He asked looking around the room, as if he was talking to the people in Greece. "Seems like we're waiting our time hanging out in this hotel room."
"No, no," she said, grinned and almost snickered. "I mean not the opposite way. What my point here is that I want to support my half idea of staying here still. Because you know, my feelings now are a bit complicated. I want to stay but to leave right in this time." She spoke too quickly, eager to know if that made sense or not. "My feelings are quite the same with you."
"Really? Then that makes sense. I think we should probably go home. Are there any blood in Grezsatly?" She randomly said that. "Well, there are a lot in the fridge." He replied shrugging his both shoulders. "Tell me," he added quickly right after that. "Did you really like this place?" He asked. "Well, of course!" She said with power, obviously no doubt in her answer.
"What about you? Your question sounds like you didn't."
"Nope. I liked this place. I'm already contented, actually." He smiled. "You're absolutely right, Rissa. I'm feeling homesick right now." He stood to open the cabinet and grabbed all his things inside it. "Yeah. We've been here in Europe for like two weeks. Don't want to worry the vamp couples with the bills too much." She said the last sentence so quietly it almost sounded like a whisper. "And how come you worry too much with our bills?" He asked, knowing if he would laugh again or not.
"I'm just concerned, sir. Those two are my close friends, I don't want them paying too much. And if it's necessary, I would've resisted when they offered this to us. But it's their wedding gift to us, so yeah. It might be embarrassing if I refuse."
"Okay, okay." He laughed even more, but caught himself and stopped. "Sorry." He mumbled.
