Chapter 14—Lockhart’s Office
Everyone started talking at once. Next thing I heard was
“My office is nearest Headmaster—just upstairs—please feel free—“
It was him. Oh Merlin no.
“Thank you Gilderoy.”
I reluctantly followed Snape, Minerva, Lockhart and Albus to Lockhart’s office. When we got there, I stayed with Snape. I don’t know why him, but I wanted to stay as far away from Lockhart as possible. There were still tears leaking down my cheeks. Albus and Minerva were examining the cat; Lockhart was acting as if he knew what was happening. Potter, Weasley, and Granger were all looking extremely nervous and Snape looked like he was trying not to smile. I didn’t even say anything. Tears were still falling. Snape leaned in
“What’s wrong?”
“Like you care.”
“I might.”
I felt choked up, trying to hold the sobs back. I just let the ears fall and pointed to Lockhart. Snape lifted my chin up and looked into my eyes…What the hell? Suddenly his eyes glinted with malice and he glared at Lockhart. He patted my back…He has been acting quite strange. I didn’t listen to what was happening…I didn’t care, I didn’t even do anything when Snape set into Potter. I just wanted to lie down.
