Chapter 38 - Jamie's Got a Gun

Jamie stands in the middle of the elevator with pistol in one hand and cell phone in the other.  She tried several times to call Lorenzo, but was transferred to his voicemail each time.  This last time she makes an attempt to call, she decides to leave a message for him saying “Quit fighting it Ren!  As hard as your shit was and as much as you...<laughter>”

  With a smirk on her face, she tosses her phone and pistol inside her purse then makes adjustments to her hair and makeup through her reflection in the elevator walls before reaching the floor of the ICU.  Finally, she arrives as the elevator sounds giving notification that she has reached the desired level.  She steps out of the door dragging a portion of her hospital gown along the floors of the halls.

  She limps from running barefoot in gravel previously, following Lorenzo’s grand escape from her clutches, to catch a taxi immediately after.  As she takes a few more steps, she looks behind herself to notice the trail of bloody footsteps that gave evidence of her presence.

  She turns around to suddenly cross paths with her personal favorite nurse, Nurse Becky.  “Make sure you get the right room this time.” Says Nurse Becky as Jamie responds by lifting the front of her hospital gown and swinging her most private of parts in a helicopter like manner.

  Nurse Becky stops in her tracks and looks at Jamie in shock as Jamie disregards her stares and continues on her mission to finish off Dana once and for all.  Looking down the passageway, she notices Nurse Williams pulling her jacket over her shoulders and walking swiftly toward the direction of Jamie.

  Jamie slows her hobble a bit to see what has Nurse Williams so flustered as she sees her vastly approaching. “Ms. Williams?  Everything ok?” Jamie asks while in passing as Nurse Williams walks by her saying “Not right now. I have to go.  There’s no one in the room if that’s what you’re here for.”

   Jamie grew curious as she has never seen Nurse Williams like this and was eager to find out the details. She immediately turned around and quickly followed Nurse Williams as she sees that she was now within feet of the elevator doors. Hobbling at an increased speed, she catches up with Nurse Williams while watching her press the button with the down arrow excessively.  She grows frustrated and walks further deciding to take the stairs as Jamie steps in front of the elevator and presses the button to immediately receive notification upon the door opening.  Nurse Williams turns around while Jamie holds the elevator doors open for her and scurries to get inside.

  As they step inside of the elevator, they hear a voice say “Ms. Williams!  Ms. Williams, wait!” Jamie catches the door before it shuts completely, only for the doors to reopen to reveal that it was once again Nurse Becky.  “I’m sick of this bitch!” Jamie says as she immediately drops everything, revealing her pistol, aims it directly between Nurse Becky’s eyes and lightly squeezes the trigger.

The flash from the gunfire illuminated Nurse Williams’ face as she backs into the corner of the elevator looking at Jamie in complete shock while the elevator door closes...
