Chapter 49- The Aftermath

Approximately six months later...

  Things have died down considerably.  Edward was acquitted of all charges and released from police custody as Dana has a change of heart and develops a greater respect for him and now wears the third set of engagement rings he provided for her.  She has been nearly drug free every since and is now an employee at a local pharmacy working diligently to pay Edward back for the previous rings that she pawned.  Their big wedding day is currently scheduled for Christmas eve.

  Lorenzo has since reconciled with Chastity's family and now has custody of Aiden as he and his son have relocated their household to a small apartment just minutes away from the house in which they used to live.  He lost his previous job due to numerous missed days, but has since been hired as a firefighter for the local fire department thanks to the aid of Jamie's uncle.  Aiden and his father have developed a stronger bond as they continue to heal from the tragedy.  Though Aiden is aware of his mothers loss, he still has as of yet to discover the details that lead to her death.

  Following the disposal of Nurse Williams' remains, Jamie meets a man that goes by the nick name of "Perez" at the PitStop gas station.  She enjoys being in his company and they both have established a solid relationship with each other every since.  She hasn't touched a weapon since meeting him and is currently attending therapy sessions and undergoing anger management.  Perez seems to be able to keep her grounded, but has no idea that Jamie is of the same sex.

  Everything seems to be daisies and fucking sunshine around their way as the madness has finally come to an end.

Meanwhile....

  "Mr. Reyes, I'm happy to tell you that by a miracle, you have fully recovered and the tests from the surgery have come back with tremendous results.  I've never seen anyone bounce back from something like this in the eight years I've been here and I can honestly say I am happy to see you fully recouperate.  We'll be back momentarily with your discharge papers and you'll be free to go.  Do you have any questions before i leave?"  He pauses momentarily before standing to his feet and responds with "No.  I have a lot of catching up to do Doc.  A whole lot."  The doctor leaves and the nurse enters to assist Mr. Reyes with his belongings.  Mr. Reyes notices that the nurse is rather new and has a physique much like that of an amazon as he watches her every move like a hawk.  "Could you please bring me my slippers?" he asks as she looks at him with a confused look upon her face.  "Where are your slippers?"  she asks as he responds by pointing his finger beneath the bed in which he layed.  She spots them and says "Oh, I see them.  Hold on.  I'll have them for you in a second." as she falls to her knees and reaches beneath the mattress to retrieve them.  He watches her backside while in motion and says "Right there baby.  Right there..."
