Chapter 37 - Ding! ...Goes the Dynamite

says Dana as Lorenzo catches her before she falls.  Holding onto her by her forearms, he asks her "Dee, what's wrong?" Out of breath and still a bit loopy, she tries to give Lorenzo an explanation "Her came in....they was about to fuck...her left....him throw up."

  Lorenzo cut her off by saying "Hey, hey, hey...I'm getting you out of here before him, her or whatever the fuck it is, comes back to finish you." He pauses for a second to look around noticing that it's the same room he and Jamie just left from.

  She points toward the door saying "Go look!" Lorenzo has multiple flashbacks of him walking in on Officer Bob doing several things and grows extremely reluctant.

  "Nah, fuck that.  We need to be gettin' outta here like now." He says as he grabs her by her hand and guides her down the passageway. A nurse passes by as Dana shouts "Nurse! There's a.." which was all she got out of her mouth as Lorenzo places his hand over Dana's mouth while providing the nurse in passing a brief smile.

   As they make it around the corner, he tells her "Dee, if we pass anyone else, don't say shit.  You got me?"  With his hand still covering her mouth, she responds the only way she could, by nodding her head. 

  Approaching the elevator, Lorenzo removes his hand from Dana's mouth and allows the people exiting the elevator to pass by while greeting them accordingly.  After the last person steps off of the elevator, Lorenzo and Dana step inside as Lorenzo presses the down button immediately.

  Upon the door closing, Dana asks "Ren what the fuck is going on?  Is that crazy bitch your boyfriend?"  Lorenzo immediately gives her "the look".  Not the good look as if he was going to break her headboard, the bad look as if he was going to shake the weave out of her head.  "Fuck no, that's not my boyfriend!' He says feeling offended. Dana responds with "Not boyfriend like that, I meant your gay friend."

  "Oh. Yeah, that's that crazy muthafucka."  He replies as he struggles to pull up his skinny jeans.

  The elevator sounds before the doors open leading to the parking lot.  "Dee, we need to get to the car and be out, like yesterday."  Lorenzo says as he leads the way with her trailing right behind him.

  She scurries behind doing her best to hold her hospital gown closed as the approach Lorenzo's vehicle.  He opens the door for her, then dashes to the drivers side before starting the vehicle.

..goes the gas light notifying him that it was time to fill-up as he ignores it and backs out of the parking spot.  Straightening his wheel, he mashes on the gas headed to Dana's place as they see Jamie limping toward the elevator with pistol in hand through the rear view mirror.

  As they turn the corner, they both breathe a sigh of relief as they gain comfort in knowing that they avoided a potential situation....

Goes Lorenzo's phone as he sees that he has an incoming call from Jay....
