Here's what the S.T.A.R Labs cortex looks like:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Riley, your powers are extraordinary. Why would you want to take them away?" Dr. Wells asks with a bit of frustration in his voice.
"I want to be normal again! I don't want to be on the other side of the city in seconds, I want to enjoy the walk and the incredible features of Central City. You can test Barry and make him faster, but just trying and fix me," I beg.
Dr. Wells nods, "as you wish, but you'll need to stay here."
"I don't have work today," I state.
"Dr. Snow."
"I'll do what I can," Dr. Snow tries comforting me, "come with me." Dr. Snow leads me into a room with glass windows and a whole bunch of medical equipment.
Barry storm into the Cortex, "We weren't the only two affected by the Particle Accelerator, were we?"
Everyone is silent for a minute, what aren't they telling us? Dr. Wells smacks his lips and goes up to Barry, "we don't know for sure."
"You said this city was safe, that there was no residual danger. But that's not true. What really happened that night?"
Caitlin and I walk out of her lab to see exactly what was going on. Dr. Wells started taping the screen on his wheelchair, "well, the accelerator went active. We all felt like heroes, and then," one of the TV screen showed a virtual simulator of what happened that night, "it all went wrong. The dimensional barrier ruptured unleashing unknown energies into our world. Antimatter, dark energy, X-elements--"
I interrupt, "those are all theoretical."
"And how theoretical are the two of you?" Dr. Wells shot back. "We mapped the dispersion throughout and around Central City though we have no way of knowing exactly what or who was exposed. We've been searching for other meta-humans like the two of you."
"Metta-human?" Barry questioned.
"It's what we're calling them," Caitlin answers.
Barry sighs, "I saw one today. He's a bank robber. And he can control the weather."
Cisco smiles, "this just keeps getting cooler."
"This is not cool," Barry starts to raise his voice. "All right? A man died. Mardon must've gotten his powers the same way Riley and I did from the storm cloud. He's still out there. We have to stop him before he hurts anyone else."
Barry tries to leave, but Dr. Wells calls his name, "Barry. That's a job for the police."
"I work for the police," Barry corrects.
"As a forensic assistant," I finally say.
Barry glares at me and then Dr. Wells, "You're responsible for this. For him."
"What's important is you and Riley," Dr. Wells yells making everyone jump. "Not me. I lost everything. I lost my company. I lost my reputation. I lost my freedom. And then you broke your arm and it healed in three hours. Inside your bodies could be a map to a whole new world. Genetic therapies, vaccines, medicines, treasures buried deep within your cells. And we cannot risk losing everything because you want to go out and play hero. You're not a hero, and neither is Riley, but she already realized that. You're just a young man who got struck by lightning."
Barry looks around hoping for us to back him up, but Dr. Wells is right, we're not heroes. Not even in Starling. Barry scoffs and starts walking out.
I turn towards everyone, "were you even going to try and get rid of my speed?"
"No," Dr. Wells says bluntly.
"Right, because I'm just lab experiment. I'm out of here," I say with anger in my voice. "So much for being friends Cisco." I zip out of S.T.A.R Labs and I walk next to Barry, "you okay?"
Barry sighs, "I'm far from okay."
An idea goes through my mind, he'll defiantly like this, "I think it's time for you to talk to a certain green friend."
Barry freezes, "what did you say?"
"Do I have to spell it out for you? Go talk to Oliver. The Robin Hood of Starling City. The vigilante. Do I need to go on?" I ask.
"How do you know about him?" Barry asks with shock all over his face.
I sigh, think! "When the time is right, you'll know. Now go!"
Barry hugs me, "thanks."
I hug back, "be safe."
Barry's Point Of View( I will only do this a couple times)
I stop in the middle of the road to check the road sign: Starling City- 5 miles. I speed towards Starling, and to where Oliver told me to meet him.
Once I got there, I tell Oliver what happened to me and how I can run hundreds of miles in less than an hour. "So that's my story. I've spent my whole life searching for the impossible. Never imagining that I would become the impossible."
Oliver faces me and asks, "so why come to me? Something tells me you didn't just run six hundred miles to say hi to a friends."
I sigh, "All my life I've wanted to just do more. Be more. And now I am. And the first chance I get to help someone, I screw up. What if Wells and Riley are right? What if I'm nota hero? What if I'm just some guy who was struck by lightning?"
"I don't think that bolt of lightning struck you, Barry. I think it chose you."
I lightly shake my head, "I just not sure I'm like you, Oliver. I don't know if I can be some vigilante."
"You ca be better," Oliver states. "Because you can inspire people in a way that I never could. Watching over your city like a guardian angel. Making a difference...saving people.....in a flash." Oliver put the mask I made him back on, "take your own advice. Wear a mask." I smile and nod, "prove Riley wrong, trust me, it's a hell of a lot of fun." With that, Oliver jumps off the building, shoots and arrow at another, and disappears before my eyes.
"Cool," I say I awe before I speed off back to Central City.
Riley's Point Of View
Barry drags me back to S.T.A.R Labs where Caitlin and Cisco were waiting for us. I rolls my eyes, "what're we doing here?"
Barry puts two overflowing boxes with cases that have been going on in the past nine moths on a table. "I've been going through unsolved cases from the past nine months. And there's been a sharp increase of unexplained deaths and missing people. Your meta-human have been busy. I'm not blaming either of you. I know you didn't mean for any of this to happen. I know you all lost something," he looks straight at Caitlin. "But I need you guys and Riley's help to catch Mardon and anyone else out there like him. But I can't do it without you."
"Okay, let me stop you there....no." I say before anyone could say anything else.
"No?" Barry asks.
"No, I'm done fighting crime and defeating villains. Okay? No," I state. Wait! Did just say that out loud? I put my hand over my mouth in shock.
"You sound like you've had some experience," Cisco jokes. I stay silent, "wait have you?"
I panic and pretend to check a fake watch on my wrist, "well! Look at the time....um....got to go!" I speed off to my apartment. "When will my life ever be normal?"
