(Femke’s P.O.V)
The lights glowed in the snowy night as everyone made their way towards the school ground. The atmosphere was chilly and people even brought their own blankets to keep the cold away.
“I just got better and now this shit pulls up?” Vanessa let out a strangled cry. Wiping on her nose with a tissue as we went over to the benches. It was a movie night in school. We were all planning on watching The Conjuring.
“Your shit will break, girls” Anthony said in a flirty tone as I rolled my eyes.
“Coming from your mouth, that sounded challenging” I sarcastically smiled.
“Oh, it is” he sheepishly smiled, making me shake my head.
“Don’t you have somewhere else to be?” I asked. Normally, he’s over at the cheerleaders corner. Either flirting with them, or either checking them out. Typical Anthony.
“I’m where I’m supposed to be” he said pointing towards the seat next to me. My gaze went towards the name tag on it.
Shit.
“You’re sitting next to me?” I nearly yelled as I got up.
“Woah, woah there babe. I can see the enthusiasm already” he winked at me as he sat down.
“Yeah, and with that enthusiasm, I’m gonna rip the skin off of your fugly face!” I yelled, grabbing some attention. Fugly word, in our school, was used for F(ing) Ugly, if you know what I mean. I and Anthony never really got along. He was like the Justin of this school.
“C’mon,” he said “I know you wanted to sit next to me anyways” he patted my seat, encouraging me to sit.
“You’re a really big day dreamer, Anon” I said, rolling my eyes as I grabbed my bag and walked away. He called after me quite a few times but I ignored him.
Calling him Anon was like a tradition in this school. He’s Anthony Stirwin. Unpredictable. Sometimes, you would forget he’s Anthony. The way he talks. His way changes day by day. Sometimes, he’s so immature and annoying. Meanwhile other times, he acts so mature and actually helps people out. The way he changes his style, he’s an anon. Anonymous. Completely anonymous.
“He’s a real pain in the ass, eh?” Vanessa asked, catching up to me as I let out a sarcastic chuckle.
“Haven’t met someone more of a pain in the ass as him” I replied as we went over to the cafeteria. George was a bit late today, he told me he’d come here by 7 and it’s 7:15 already.
“Where’s G?” I asked, gazing around for any sign of him.
“Oh, him? He’s over to the bank with his dad. He said there was some trouble with the money transfer to Washington for his dad’s job purpose. And since he was on his way over here and the bank was in his way too, his dad decided to join in” she explained.
“But couldn’t his dad just drop off at the bank and he could come here?”
“His dad was really tensed, Femke. This money transfer better go right because if it doesn’t, his dad’s whole career would crash and you know that.” She said in a stern tone, giving me a serious look making me feel guilty. Seriously, this girl was like an open book. No emotion held inside. Giving you those smacks of emotions that a sad story gives you.
“Alright alright” I muttered turning away as I walked over to the table, sitting on one side as Vanessa sat on the other.
“When’s the movie starting” she asked, gazing around at everyone as I did the same.
