(Femke's P.O.V)
I walked downstairs and found Justin on the porch, bent on his knee as he fought to tie his shoe laces.
"Where are you going?" I asked, standing next to him. His gaze shifted up to me and met mine when I noticed his eyes were glossy. He had been crying. "Oh God," I whispered and quickly bent down so I was his height, my arm latched along his shoulders as I tried to be a source of comfort for him. "What happened?" I asked and wiped his left over tears which were replaced by the new fresh ones. Seeing boys cry always made me feel weak as I always took males as the strongest species. His tears didn't give me a good sign. My heart started pounding faster and my breath hitched when he shut his eyes and rubbed his hands on his temple.
My world was going in never-ending circles. I couldn't make out anything through his features, no matter how hard I tried. It was like I was stuck in an enormous maze with no way out. Completely lost.
Please don't end this. Please don't end us.
For some reason, I was scared of the fact that his stress and tears had something to do with our patch up. And I didn't want us to end. Not now, not ever. "Please talk to me. Say something, Justin." I was on the verge of blowing up. I was pleading. Begging. Going out of my senses. What did this boy want from me?
I felt tears rising up in my eyes. My voice shaky.
"My mom," he choked out, making me exhale a sigh of relief as he quickly snapped his head in my direction. Embarrassed by my actions, I covered my stupidity up.
"I mean - what about her? What happened to her? Is she alright?" I asked one by one. Questions coming out like Carbondioxide from my mouth.
"She - she's pregnant." he let out a sob. Confusion took over me. How? But mostly, why was he upset?
"And you're upset? You should be overjoyed. I would be overjoyed if I was in your place-"
"No, you don't understand." he sighed helplessly, running his hands through his hair in frustration. "He came back."
"Who?"
"Jeremy" my eyes widened the moment he mentioned that name. "I thought they had broken up."
"They had. He came home drunk a couple of nights ago - and.." he stopped, making me gasp as I got what he was about to say. I covered my mouth with my hand. "And now she's pregnant. He couldn't care less and neglects the baby."
"What?" my voice came out a bit shaky as I was too welled up in my thoughts. Justin rubbed his palms over his eyes, trying to prevent himself from crying any more. I couldn't sense my surroundings. It all felt numb. You know that Deja vu feeling you get? I was getting that now. I had a feeling that this had happened before. Like, this was all a part of my history.
And it was.
This was exactly Justin did to me. Got drunk. Took advantage of me. And left.
Except for the baby thing, of course. God saved me.
I honestly wonder what if I actually got pregnant after that night? What an awful turn that would be.
"Femke?" my head shook as I came back to reality.
"Huh? Yeah?" I asked, facing Justin.
"You look," he paused, looking at me carefully as he continued "lost."
"Forget about that, where are you going now?"
"Back"
"Back?" I asked in confusion.
