(Femke's P.O.V)

"One more step, one more step." I heard his light voice, pointing at the highest step of the staircase as Mom- no, Pattie put in her whole strength and climbed it.

Everyone cheered across the corridor and I smiled from where I stood, beneath the staircase. At the last. Staring at everyone. I saw Justin's arm around Pattie's waist as hers was around his shoulders, Ryan on the other side as they got her inside the room.

Though I expected Jeremy to be in place of them, but at the same time I knew it was impossible. The way Justin ended things with Jeremy for good a month ago. When he found out about him and Stephanie. He didn't even consider giving him another chance. I know what he did was pathetic, but so was that what Justin did to me, wasn't it? And saying he has changed proved nothing because in that case, we don't even know what's in Jeremy's heart.

Today, finally after 2 months, the doctors said Pattie was good to go. But under care-taking.

Also, it had been a month since my treatment. The results.. are to be disclosed today.

My heart tightened at this thought.

The past month had been so nerve wracking for everyone. My treatment had gone well and I had a good feeling about my results, but still, something frightened me.

My aunt had leukemia and she didn't win the war against it. What if I loose? I mean I was nearly at the last stage. There is no way I can go back now, is it? It has spread all in my body and- I'm done for good. I'm sure I am.

Snap out of it, Femke!

"Femke?" I jump lightly, looking up to see Justin approaching me. "Hey, why aren't you coming inside?"

Because I don't want to. Or maybe I'm scared to. Or maybe I don't feel comfortable.

Also because I'm scared as hell about my results.

"What's wrong?"

"Ah, nothing. I gotta go, got something to catch up on. I'll be back in half an hour." I, to be honest, wasn't even in the mood to talk to him.

"But Femke-"

"Half an hour, Justin." I spoke, shutting the door behind myself as I got in the car and jetted off towards the hospital.

The way he ended stuff with Jeremy put me in deep thoughts.

So, when it comes to him, he deserves a second chance. And when it comes to Jeremy, he has 'crossed all limits' and doesn't deserve a second chance.

What about using a girl, making her loose her virginity for a bet? Trusting the opposite party and leaving her in the hands of a rapist even after you knew what was going on? Cheating on her? What's all that? Are all those counted inside the limits? Because frankly, then what Jeremy did is wayyyyy inside the limits category.

Justin's double standards disgusted me. One shouldn't be like that. You should think for others what you think for yourself. Your rules should always be similar for what you set for others.

And if Jeremy isn't getting a second chance. So isn't Justin. As much as it pained me to say this.

I clutched my hands on the steering wheel tighter, trying hard to control my tears.
