Chapter 20: Horrifying News

(Femke’s P.O.V)

“And you just won our wriggly bunny!” the anchor yelled at my face with excitement as I flinched at the sudden outburst but showed myself as I was really happy as I spread my arms in front to get that weird shaped bunny with a fake, big smile across my face.

“Thank you so much! This is so adorable!” I said as loud as he did at his face, making George burst out laughing behind me. The anchor smiled at me as I turned around and left the gaming area with George.

Me and George were at that stupid festival he wanted to take me with him. It was as boring as a piece of poop laying in the flush. I can’t believe I just said that, but it’s the truth. So, now I just played a pretty stupid game because George dared me to and unfortunately I won and got this really weird bunny which shakes a lot. That explains the name.

“This is so adorable, right?!” George suddenly yelled in my ear, pointing towards my bunny as I shook away from him. My eyes widened as I stared at him. The look on my face quickly changed from shock to grumpy.

“Shut it, Georgia Rose” I joked.

“Why should I?”

“Cause you’re daddy was a dentist!” I hummed the tune of Best Song Ever by One Direction as he turned the other way and growled.

“Listen, I love one direction but you’re gonna make me hate them” he complained as I giggled.

“You can not simply hate them” I winked at him as he turned back to me.

“I know right. But you better shut up” he ceased his eyes at me as I rolled mine.

“I’m a girl!” I said in a girly tone as he started walking faster in a pissed off way. “Have some respect!” I joked, caching up with him as he giggled a bit.

“You don’t say!” he said in the same girly tone as I did, making me laugh.

“I do say” I replied.

“Just don’t”

“Whatever”

“Oh, that reminds me!” he suddenly said in a loud voice, making me jump.

“What reminds you?” I asked in confusion.

“Nothing really. I just wanted to shock you” with that he turned to the lane of his house, making me huff and follow him.

“You should leave me home first.” I said as we reached his house. He turned around and looked at me in confusion.

“Why is that?”

“Because..”

“Because??” he said, waiting for me to continue.

“Because I’m a girl!” I repeated, giggling a bit as he chuckled, rolled his eyes while shaking his head and went towards his door.

“See you” he muttered as he waved at me.

“See you” I replied, turning around and walking away from his house. I took the road to my house and entered the lane. I walked a few steps to my house as I heard my phone going off. I took it out and read the name in confusion. It was George. I turned around and saw him running towards me. I turned back and took a few steps towards him as he gasped and came in front of me.

“What is it, George? We just said goodbye” I said in confusion as he gathered his breath.

“It’s-it’s Vanessa” he gasped, taking huge breaths.

“What about her?” I asked in suspense.

“She’s here” he finished, making me eyes wide and a smile spread across my face.

“How do you know?” I asked, controlling my happiness from bursting out really early.

“Jacob just sent me a message. He’s my friend who’s still in contact with her. He said she’s here for a couple of weeks” he replied. I was about to jump up and down with happiness and hug him tightly when I heard my phone go off again.

“Hold on a sec” I said as I took out my phone once again and checked the caller ID. This time, the smile from my face instantly vanished and a look of horror overcame as I looked back at George with a tensed look. His smile faded as he examined my features in confusion and suspense.

“Who is it?” he asked as I felt my heartbeat starting to increase. “Femke, who is it?” he asked again, noticing my sudden numbness. “Would you tell me what’s going on?”

“I think I might have the same news” I whispered, staring at him. He made a confused look, asking for explanation.

“What? What do you mean?” he asked again.

“Justin’s here” I choked out. George’s eyes widened as I felt the phone drop from my hands.
