- Brooke's POV -

I rolled over and came face to face with Alisha's sleeping figure. Groaning, I sat up and rubbed my eyes. I glanced over at the small amount of dim light peeking through the sheet over my window. I swung my feet over the side of my bed and got off carefully.

I left my dark bedroom and went downstairs.

Stepping off the last step, I could hear snoring. I turned my attention to the living room, Ben was passed out on the floor in front of the TV. I stifled a laugh and went to the kitchen. My stomach grumbled, begging for food. It's been four days since I last ate and the hunger was starting to get to me. I clutched my stomach and hunched over, trying to silence the loud and pleading grumbles.

Pushing my hunger aside as best I could, I made my way to the front door to go outside. I need some fresh air.

Opening the front door, I was greeted with an abundance of white snow. " Snow!? " I shouted confused. A smile came across my pale face and my rosy lips as I ran out into the snow. The snow crunched under my feet as I ran around like a small child. The crisp, cold air burned my lungs as I panted. Feeling the cold air made me remember how much I missed ice skating, I've been skating since I was nine. Its always been one of my favorite things to do. I would go to the rink as often as I could to practice my jumps and twirls. After skating, I would usually head to Carisma's place to get away from family drama.

I jumped up and landed on my back in a big pile of snow. Laughing to myself, I starred up at the sky. There wasn't a cloud in sight. I huffed and heard snow move behind me. Curious, I rolled over and looked at the source of the noise. There, stood a black and red husky, baring it's huge teeth. What's with smiles around this place? The dog emitted a low growl and licked its teeth. I backed away from the dog, but it lunged at me, landing on top of me. I screamed out in shock and panic as the dog landed on top of me and tried to bite me. I barely had enough strength to hold the dog up, so it couldn't rip my throat out. " HELP! " I screamed for dear life. The dog let out another growl and I growled back, equally as animalistic. I screamed again and the dog's weight was suddenly lifted off of me. I sat up in the snow and saw Jeff, still in his pajamas, pulling the dog back by its fur. " SHUT THE HELL UP SMILE! " the dog let out another deep growl. Jack came out of the woods and ran over to me. " Are you okay?! " Jack asked concerned. I looked up at his blue mask. " Yep, just peachy! " I said sarcastically as I glared back at the hell hound. Jack pulled me to my feet and I glanced back over at the dog. Jeff had the dog in his lap. " What the - is he like your pet?! " I questioned the smiling man angrily. " His name is Smile. " Jeff shifted his gaze from Smile to me. I sighed in annoyance and stumbled back inside, my clothes soaking wet from playing in the snow.

I made my way to my bedroom to get a shower. Walking in, I didn't see Alisha anywhere. She must have left or at least gone back to her room. I waltzed into the bathroom and got undressed.

Stepping out of the shower carefully, I dried my hair and got dressed in black leggings and an over sized, long sleeved, navy blue shirt. Nodding to myself in the mirror, I exited my bathroom and bumped into someone. I looked up and saw it was Jack. " Hi? " I said rather confused. " I came to apologize for yesterday. " Jack deadpanned. " What are you apologizing for? " " For hurting your wrist. I didn't realize how strong I was gripping you. " I gave Jack a small smile. " It's fine. " Jack eased himself slightly and sighed. I was about to walk around Jack, but was immediately pulled into a strong embrace. It took me a couple seconds, but I hugged back. Jack bent his head down and rested it on top of mine. I felt so small compared to Jack. Jack pulled away and my stomach grumbled. I awkwardly laughed. " Are you hungry? " Jack asked. " If I was strong enough to go out, I would. But until then, I don't know what I'm going to eat. " I answered. " Wait here. " Jack instructed before leaving my room. I walked over to my bed and sat down.
