- Alisha's POV -

I turned over in bed and grabbed at my phone on the floor. I pulled the small device to my face and clicked the 'on' button, resulting in me being blinded by the bright light. Squinting, I punched in my pin and looked to my notifications and sighed when I saw nothing new. I glanced up at the right hand corner to check the time and date. " 9:52pm, December fifth. " I said aloud to myself. I sighed sadly as I set my phone aside. Brooke's nineteenth birthday is tomorrow...

I rolled over and looked to where Jeff should be laying. Noticing he wasn't there, I sat up and winced in pain. There's a bruise running up my back. Jeff and I had got into a fight about two days ago and Mr Smiles forced me into the railing of the stairs out of rage, knife ready. He's been drinking quite a bit lately.

I ignored my pain and swung my feet over the side of the bed and the top of my feet grazed the cold hardwood floor. A shiver ran over me and I crossed my arms over my chest for warmth as I completely left my bed to make my way to the bathroom down the hall.

I knocked on the bathroom door and waited for an answer that never came, so I pushed in the door and locked it behind me.

I took a look at myself in the mirror and pulled some of my mid back lengthen, black hair from my face and stared at three small bruises on the side of my neck. I ran my hand over the small bruises and sighed sadly. The bruises still hurt from Jeff grabbing me. I pushed my thoughts aside and drew a hot bath.

Once the bath was full, I stripped down and slipped into the steaming tub of water.

I stared at the ceiling for a few moments before completely submerging myself under the water. I stayed under the water for what felt like an eternity before I started seeing black spots. Through my water barrier, I heard banging on the bathroom door and I ignored it as the small black spots turned to large splotches.

As I was about to lose all consciousness, the door was kicked in and somebody walked in.

I felt my eyelids start to drop, but before I could completely slip out I was hastily pulled from the water and dragged from the tub and onto the tiled floor.

I shot my eyes open as I coughed up warm water onto the floor. " It's not wise to put yourself in dangerous situations. " Hoodie's rough tone came. I coughed up some more water and looked up to glare at the man. " Why did you pull me out? " I spat. " You would have died if I didn't. " Hoodie deadpanned as he grabbed a towel from under the sink cabinet and threw it onto me. " I wanted to! " I hissed viciously as I got to my feet and wrapped the towel around my cold body. Hoodie was silent as I pushed past him and made my way back to the room.

I slammed the door behind me and sat against it as I pulled my bare knees to my chest and silently sobbed to myself.

A good twenty minutes went by of my silent cries and just as I pushed myself up off the floor, the door flew open and knocked me over. I quickly fixed my towel and got to my feet to face Jeff.

" Why were you on the floor? " Jeff sipped down the last little bit of rum in the bottle he was holding before he  dropped it beside him. " I was just sitting, it's none of your concern. " I glared as I turned to walk over to the dresser to grab some clothes, but Jeff was quick to grab my wrist and turn me to face him.

" What do you fucking want!? " I hissed through shark like teeth as I furrowed my brown over my tar colored eyes. " Why did Hoodie tell me you tried to kill yourself? " Jeff growled as the scent of alcohol rode his breath and I scrunched my nose up in disgust. " It's none of your damn concern. " I stated bitterly as I ripped my wrist from his strong hold and continued my way to the dresser.
