*Chapter Twelve*
(*‘-‘*) Annie's POV:
The drive home was dreamlike as well. Raven said that his parents would like to meet me someday. Whoa. That made my insides flipped upside down. When we arrived, he opened my door for me like a real gentleman should and ushered me out. Mom was waiting for me in the living room. I could tell since it was the only room in the house with the lights on. He said that he’ll walk me inside since he still has to thank my mom for allowing me to have the night with him. Isn’t he the most wonderful date ever? I nodded my head and told him that I was thankful as well for everything. He replied that it was nothing compared to the time spent together with me. I swear I felt myself like I was on fire after he said that. When we reached the porch, I unlocked the door and he pushed it open. We went straight to the living room and saw my mom sitting on the couch with a coffee by her side. She looked up and smiled at us.
“Thank you, Mrs. Courice, for letting me have your wonderful daughter tonight.” Raven began and bowed at her. Mom smiled in satisfaction and bowed at him too. She took a quick sip from her coffee before responding,
“No. Thank you for taking good care of her tonight. I can see just how happy she is because of you.” My face flushed and spoke out sharply,
“Mom!” I heard Raven laugh softly so I turned at him. He has the cutest laughter ever. He smiled warmly at me when our eyes met and said,
“I am happy being with her too.” He was talking to my mom but he was looking at me. My face turned into a darker shade of red. His eyes left mine when my mom spoke out.
“If I may ask, Raven, are you in the stage of courting my daughter or are you just having fun with her?”
“Actually,” Raven began and scratched the back part of his head, “I told her that I want to hang out with her. Therefore, I would like to have your permission, Mrs. Courice, for my courtship of your daughter.”
My face glowed. Oh my sweet lemon! Raven wants to court me! I thought he already was but I suppose he wants a formal permission from my mom. I was swelling up again. How on earth can I have the perfect guy right in front of me? Wake me up. I must be dreaming.
Mom giggled at first but then replied, “By all means, Raven. You have my blessing.”
Raven smiled happily as he turned at me. He suddenly engulfed me in a hug. That took me by surprise. I hugged him back of course. When he let go, he then said to my mom.
“I had a wonderful evening with her. But I have to leave now.”
“Do you need anything before you go?” My mom asked. She’s always been the most caring person in the house. Raven then turned at me again and answered,
“No, thank you. I already have all I need.”
My eyes were probably gleaming when he said those words. Raven can be such a sweetie. He nodded at my mom again and gave me a quick hug before leaving the house. My mom and I waved good bye as he drove off. When I dropped my hand, I thought to myself ‘Am I the luckiest girl in the world or what?’ My mom then looked at me with eyes that seem to scream out ‘So… what happened?’. I laughed lightly at her action and shook my head with a smile on my face,
“You won’t believe it.”
“I’m all ears.” Mom said as we went back to the living room. I sat down tiredly at the couch and remembered what just perfectly happened tonight with Raven. My thoughts caused me to smile and sigh in happiness.
