*Chapter Twenty Four*

(*‘-‘*) Annie's POV:

“Hey, Annie!” Raven said once I was inside the car. I spent a good five minutes in front of my mirror, practicing what to say or do. I used the time wisely by greeting ‘good morning’ without breaking down or choking my voice. It was hard at first. I actually had to reapply make up on my face every time I fail which was exactly more than three times. Anyways, I was praying so hard that he wouldn’t see through me or anything. Now is the moment to test my acting skills. Okay. Deep breathe, Annie. Let’s do this!

“Hey, Vincent!” I greeted him back with a smile. Raven looked at me with a confused look on his face. Truth be told, I was still analyzing what I said wrong. And then it hit me…

                Holy…

                Shi-weet…

                Lemons…

“I mean, hey Raven!” My face definitely turned red! I’m freaking sure! I immediately looked away from him and pretended that I was putting my seatbelt on. This way, I wouldn’t turn to look at him. Because I was so nervous of what I just did, I was fumbling on the seatbelt lock. Raven was simply sitting in his seat. Clearly, he was just as dumbfounded as I was.

“Great. I can’t put this lemony thing on…” I mumbled under my breath. Raven let out a soft laugh from my side and leaned towards me.

“Let me help you with that, Annie.” He said and bended to my side to get my seatbelt done. He was bending in front of me. Our faces were so close that I could literally kiss him right now. I mean, what the heck, Annie? What are you thinking? Get a hold of yourself! How can you kiss the person you love when you just called him the name of the person you… hate? No. I don’t hate Vincent. Then what?

“There. Done.” He smiled as he looked into my eyes. Now, our faces were so close that I swear, I could kiss him. On the lips. For a good five minutes. Annie! There you go again. I shook my head and looked away from him.

“Thanks.” I said softly. Raven didn’t move away from his position. He was still in front of me. His eyes were fixed on my lips. Wait. Is he going to kiss me? Well, our kiss did got interrupted last time because of some demon who escaped from hell and ripped off an angel’s face and placed it on his own. I mean, what? What did I just say?

“We’re going to be late, Raven.” I suddenly spoke out.

“Uhh, yeah. Sorry.” He got flustered and sat back on his own seat. I stole a glance from him and got to see his face turn a bit red. Whoa, that’s cute. But wait… Why did I say that?! I could have gotten a kiss from him! Darn it, Annie! Why are you so disoriented? Focus, girl! Say something to him.

“It’s okay.” I said as calmly as I can. The car drove off. I looked outside and watched the scenery moving. It was like I was looking at a panorama from right to left since I was seating on the passenger seat. We were now close to school but the memory back there was still fresh in my mind. Wow! I have to share this to Quest! I have to tell her that Raven and I almost kissed today! Quest will definitely-

The sudden realization washed over me and enveloped me in deep silence. My tears were begging to go out but I know I shouldn’t cry. I know I shouldn’t.

“Annie? Oh heck. Did I make you cry?” Raven suddenly burst out from my side. What the sweet lemon…?! I’m crying? Again?! Well, this is far embarrassing already. He stopped the car and turned at me, “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to look at you like that a while back. Please don’t cry.”
