*Chapter Seven*

(*‘-‘*) Annie's POV:

“Can you believe that?!” I finished with a grunt. I was telling Quest what just happened on my way to the library. If you guys still don’t realize it, the library is our usual hang-out. This is where we talk and gossip. Well, let’s just say that we, girls, love to live dangerously. We mess things up in the library. We put books in their improper places. We stifle a laugh every time we see the confused faces of people when they find a reference book on the Browsing Corner, or when they find most of the books upside down. It’s not that we want to make Ms. Merly’s life horrible or anything. We just want something to remember when we graduate. Oh, graduation… It’s fast approaching…

“Shhh!” Ms. Merly looked up from her work to shush me. I smiled sheepishly at her and mouthed a quick ‘sorry’. Quest giggled lightly at what just happened so I shoved her gently on the side for a friendly payback. I turned my attention back at Quest. She inhaled deeply and started her comments.

“Well, look on the bright side, Annie. You’re hanging out with Raven already.” Quest said, trying to cheer me up. I guess she is right.

“But that is the reason why Vincent was mad at me.” I slumped on the table. My life is in a gobbledygook mess. If I hang out with Raven, Vincent will be furious. If I will obey Vincent, Raven will be downhearted. Sweet lemons! I’m trapped! And in between two best friends too!

“Well… now that’s a problem…” Quest replied as she taps her cheek with her fingers. The bell then rang signaling for the next class, gym class. She stood up lazily and said, “Let’s go back to our room. Who knows? Your plan today will solve everything now.” Oh yeah, my dodge ball plan. It has to work today. It must because if it will be successful, I don’t have to worry about Vincent pointing a knife at my neck.

“Okay.” I did the same and we started to make our way back to class. Quest was holding my hand, as if she was comforting me. She knows how troubled I am and I guess she has to do what she can for me now. She is like a sister, a best friend, and a mother in one. She knows how to treat people well that is why she has lots of admirers and no haters. Well, except for the insecure people who are jealous of her. She is an angel, and although she isn’t perfect, she is still the best.

I looked at the bigger picture. Soon, Quest will be with Vincent. The guy who has a cold shoulder that’s icier than Pluto. Vincent is the total opposite of Quest. He is rude, he is conceited, he is everything that spells out bad! I felt sad because I know that Vincent is not for Quest but since this is what Quest wants then I suppose I have no other choice.

My head was still in the clouds when we entered the classroom. Quest led me to my seat and went to her own afterwards. I was still thinking and the only reason why I woke up from my thoughts was the loud voice of our gym teacher, Sir Van.

“Alright, wimps! Go to the changing room and change into your PE uniforms right now! Go, go, go!” He yelled out and blew in his whistle. It was so sharp that I had to cover my ears from preventing them from exploding. The whole class went out of the room and began their way to the changing rooms. There are two of them, one for the boys and another one for the girls. When we reached the first level floor, the boys separated from the girls and vice versa. They got inside their respective rooms and began changing fast. Sir Van isn’t the patient kind of gym teacher, I mean, is there ever going to be a patient gym teacher? I don’t think so. I went inside with Quest right by my side and we began changing.
