*Chapter Thirty One*

(*‘-‘*) Annie's POV:

After finding Vincent, the three of us walked back. Raven was holding my hand and leading me the way since I wasn’t looking ahead. My head was down because I didn’t want to see him. We were almost near to our picnic cloth where Marzia was waiting. She had an angry look on her face. Her legs were sitting elegantly but her hands were on her hip so she didn’t look as elegant as she was. When we were in front of her, she began her outburst.

“Idiota! Have you gone loco de atar?!” Marzia scoffed out and crossed her arms, “What a bastardo.”

Whoa. I never thought Marzia would say that. Vincent rush towards her and gave her a hug from the side.

“Aww…” He cooed at her, “I miss you too.”

Marzia slapped his arms away but Vincent hugged tighter. Why do I feel a bit… Argh! Just stop it, Annie. You had your chance last time and you let it go. I looked away from them to prevent myself from getting hurt. Vincent saw this and from my peripheral vision, I could see him smirking. What a lemon.

“Anyways, Annie, do you want to have a look around the place?” Raven suggested. He extends his elbow for me to hold. I smiled at his gesture and so I held it with my hand. Vincent squirmed in his place. Hah! Well, two can play that game. If you want me to get jealous over you, well fine, I have Raven with me.

“We’ll be back, Marzy, Vince.” Raven nodded his head at them and we walked away. I didn’t look back no matter how much I wanted to. I know I’d just get myself hurt.

“Si, cuidarse!” Marzia yelled out. Raven yelled back a short ‘sure’ at her. Marzia must have told us to be careful or something.

“Don’t be gone for too long!” Vincent called out as well. Is he worried too?

“Sure thing, Vince.” Raven called back without turning his head. He held me by my waist and I didn’t stop him. I leaned at his shoulder as we walked on, never caring what the others would think.

Not even when I know that I was hurting someone.

“Didn’t you know that marigold, when infused in salves, acts as a medicine to heal wounds of the body and heart?” I told Raven when I plucked one of it out from its branch. The flower was in my hand as I turned it around to give a good look at it. I haven’t seen marigold for such a long time. Heck, I haven’t seen most of these plants in such a long time. I mean, mom does have some dried ones as a supply but I don’t know where she gets them from. Maybe she got them from here.

“Wounds of the heart?” Raven chuckled by my side as he took another coltsfoot. We were both kneeling down and only our heads could be seen since our lower portion was already covered by the tall plants. Just like how Vincent was covered back then. He was busy making something in his hands, “Wouldn’t it be better if they would go to a doctor?”

“I mean, broken hearted. You know, like your heart got hurt or something emotionally?” I quickly said as I took another flower.

“What are you talking about?” Raven asked worriedly. He must have thought that I’ve gone crazy. Oh no.

“Nothing! It’s just some stupid folklore that my mom used to tell me when I was young.” I immediately covered the subject up so that he wouldn’t think I’m going loco like Vincent.
