*Chapter Twenty Five*
(*‘-‘*) Annie's POV:
So now I know how wallflowers feel like. You know, hiding and doing your best not to be seen and stuff. It’s an awful and lonely path of life. No wonder I feel so depressed. First period already passed by and I haven’t spoken a single word on Quest. I once stole a glance from her and she was just sitting on her seat while twirling her hair. She looked so cool and confident. Even better than when she was still with me. Wait… did I caused her to shrunk down in the popularity poll?
I guess so. Now that I’m not in her life, she looks even more beautiful and amazing. I’m such a bad friend then for bringing her down. I typically zoned out in our first period but I’m thankful that Marzia was able to jot down notes and is willing to share those notes with me. I better make it up for her next time. Thank goodness second period is delayed for a bit for a short teacher’s meeting. But then, the classroom was getting messy and noisy.
“Chica has problema, si?” Marzia asked when I told her that I wanted to borrow her notes. “Chica always has notes, si?”
“Not really. I just don’t feel umm… well. I think I’m sick, I suppose.” I smiled at her as she handed the notebook.
“Harto y cansado de escuela?” She eyed me suspiciously, “O afligido de corazón?”
“I’m sorry, what?” My eyes practically grew wide at what she said. Was she even talking or babbling? I don’t usually hear Marzia speak Spanish in one line. This is quite new for me.
“Harto y cansado de escuela o afligido de corazón?” She repeated while rolling her eyes. Her Spanish voice sounds so smooth and natural… but sweet lemons, I don’t understand a thing.
“I still don’t-”
“She’s asking if you’re sick and tired of school or sick at heart.” Someone explained from behind. I turned to thank the person but my smile quickly turned into a frown. Vincent sat in front of our desk and patted Marzia’s head, much to Marzia’s dismay.
“Geez, stop scaring people like that, Marz.” He ruffled her hair a bit which caused Marzia to get mad.
“Maldito lo que me importe!” Marzia spat out.
“What do you mean you don’t give a damn?” Vincent held his chest and acted offended, “Well, you should. You’ll lose friends if you’re like that.” Speak for yourself, Vincent. Speak for yourself.
“Aprisionar.” Marzia mumbled. She had enough of Vincent’s annoying… just annoying something. She stood up and walked towards Raven’s place. Raven was busy writing something in his notebook. I know! I’ll join in with them!
I stood up to follow but then, someone blocked me. I eyed Vincent angrily. Really? Does he still have to annoy me even when he doesn’t know me anymore?
“Yo, Raven’s pick-me-up number seven,” He began. My jaw dropped. Pick-me-up? Pick-me-up?! He has no manners! “I’ve got a lot of things to tell you but...”
He let his voice dropped and waited for a sound. What?
“Hey, Vince!” Quest hollered at Vincent. She was waving at him to go near.
