*Chapter Twenty Nine*

(*‘-‘*) Annie's POV:

I woke up with a smile on my face. Is it just me or is this day the most amazing one yet? The soft beams of the rising sun glisten through my window as they kiss the furniture and fixture inside my room. Outside, the birds were chirping me a beautiful sonnet and the flowers bloomed so wide and fresh as if to greet me a beautiful morning. My mom just responded to my message last night and it read,

Sure thing. Have fun, dear. :V (That’s a kiss from me)

Yep. I sure am going to have a really fun-filled day, mother dear and I won’t let anything come across that. My reply composed of a short message that was filled with utmost sincerity and bliss.

I will. Thanks mom. :* (That’s my kiss for you)

Kicking my comforter away, I stretched my body and let out a yawn. My bed hair brushed down to my forehead so I pushed them back. I better get ready now. I’m going to spend one fine day with Raven! Sweet to the lemon! I literally skipped as I went towards my bathroom. Who knew humming ‘Happy’ inside the shower can be so relaxing?

When I was done, I brushed my hair as I went back to my room and walked to my closet. Picking something to wear right now seems to be harder than solving a word problem in math. What should I wear? Should I go bold and striking? Or should I stay conservative and be more of myself?

Nah. I’ll go with both. So, I went to the left side of my closet where most of my dresses are kept. It’s the area where I don’t usually go to but today is special and I want to look my best. I rummaged inside, looking for something that may still fit. These were already bought years back and it might take a miracle for me to find a good one in here.

When I was just about to lose hope, my eyes spotted something. I took out a soft pink, knee-length dress and inspected it. When was the last time that I wore this? Memories then came flashing in. It was during a masquerade ball that our neighborhood organized. If I remember it correctly, it was a year ago. We came in pairs and since I wasn’t close to any guy during that time, Quest became my escort. It was a really silly thing but we had fun and that’s what mattered most.

This is the one. I then went back to the bathroom to wear it. When I was done, I went to my mirror to check on how I look. The hem of the dress was an inch above my knee. It was clear evidence that I was growing up. That’s a good thing. For the shoes, I picked a random pair of boots from my closet again and wore it. It fit perfectly well with the dress. Of course, I didn’t forget about Raven’s necklace. I turned around slowly and after giving a contented smile, I went down to eat breakfast.

“…‘Cause I’m happy!” I sang out loud as I took in another spoonful of delicious coco puffs. What can I do? The song is stuck in my head. Like, really, really stuck in my head. When I was done eating, I placed my empty bowl in the sink and washed it. When I turned off the faucet after washing, the doorbell rang. Sweet lemons! It’s Raven! I rushed to the doorway then paused before opening.

“Good morning, Raven.” I greeted him when I opened the door.

“Good morning too, Annie.” He leaned in and kissed my forehead. He was wearing a blue long-sleeved hoodie and underneath is a white tee. And wow, he looks amazing with just that. I mean, not just with that! He’s got jeans on and a pair of sneakers. Even though it was simple, he still looks so sweet lemon perfect, “Whoa, you look… beautiful.”
