Months have passed since the Fall of Beacon. Ruby Rose along with Jaune Arc, Nora Valkyrie, and Lie Ren continue the fight against the White Fang, Grimm, and Salem. Yang Xiao Long left after her arm was severed by Adam Taurus. Blake Belladonna has not been seen everyone discovered she ran away. Weiss Schnee was brought back to her home to Atlas by her father, Jacques Schnee. As for Professor Ozpin, no one has seen or heard from him.
Logan, formerly the Wolverine, was facing a few of the members of the Hulk Gang, Bobbie-Jo Banner and her two brothers, Charlie and Otis. Logan still felt guilt ridden for the death of Pyrrha Nikos, John Wraith, and Penny and had to live in an apartment building owned by the Hulk Gang. Unfortunately, Logan reverted to alcoholism and pacifism in the last few months. He could never pay for the rent on time which meant it was time for his usual beating. Logan kept his head down as the two green brothers towered over him. Bobbie-Jo smirked, "We'll cut to the chase here, Logan because we know you don't have this month's rent. Which is why my brothers are here today, too. You met Otis and Charlie, right?" Logan shrugged, "Once or twice." Bobbie-Jo snickered, "Well, you were such a badass a long time ago, they were worried this might turn nasty." Logan thought back of all of the ventures he once had for what was six months ago but felt like fifty years. He couldn't help but agree despite Bobbie-Jo being cruelly sarcastic. Bobbie-Jo continued, "Of course, I tried to explain you were a pacifist now. But you know what brothers are like..." Logan nodded, "Can't say I blame them. Not too many pacifists exist nowadays." Otis asked, "Are you ready to take your punishment, runt... or do we have to flatten your crappy apartment?" Logan didn't acknowledge them as he remembered Pyrrha's death. Charlie cried in his ear, "You deaf? Are you ready to take your beating?" Logan didn't respond. Otis jabbed a finger on Logan's chest as he scowled, "This punk tryin' ta piss us off?" Logan wished he could fight back, but couldn't bring himself to do it. "Well?" asked Otis. Logan sighed deeply, then replied, "Yes, sir. I'm ready to take my beatin'." Then Otis punched him so hard Logan fell on the floor. "Good," said Otis. Bobbie-Jo laughed, "Oh, Wolverine. How the hell did they mess you up so bad you won't even defend yourself?" Logan could only grunt in response as Otis and Charlie continued to beat him. Charlie yelled, "C'mon, punk! You used to be the most dangerous guy alive! We're just a bunch'a hillbillies!" Logan's only friend in this place Jennifer Walters and her adopted daughter Doreen Green, a squirrel Faunus, came out and saw the whole scene unfold. Before Jennifer could do anything, Doreen rushed forward and cried out, "Stop!" Otis and Charlie stopped as they chuckled. "She's funny," smiled Charlie. Otis grinned as he added, "Just be glad we have a sense of humor, little girl." Doreen squeaked in fright as she ran to hide behind Jennifer's leg. "You leave my daughter alone!" demanded Jennifer as she gave them a no nonsense look. Bobbie-Jo and her brothers turned around and walked down the hallway. Jennifer walked forward to Logan's beaten body as she kneeled down to help him up. Logan limped back to his apartment as his healing factor began to heal his bruises.
Logan sat down on his couch and opened up a bottle of whiskey. Jennifer and Doreen entered inside as the She-Hulk peered down at Logan and asked, "Why do you keep doing this to yourself, Logan?" Logan didn't answer as Jennifer continued, "You maybe invincible, but that's no excuse to let them keep hurting you." Logan finished his drink as he replied, "I'm already hurt. Otis and Charlie are just a bonus." Jennifer sighed, "You can't afford living here. You should be out there helping your friends. Not sitting around drinking all day and waiting for the end of the world." Logan held his head in shame as he thought about his alcoholism going to a point that he could get drunk with just enough alcohol to have a normal human die from alcohol poisoning. He replied, "I can't bring myself to hurt anyone again. Every time I pop out my claws, someone dies." Jennifer and Doreen sat down next to him as Logan lounged back while staring at the ceiling. Jennifer grabbed his face so she could look at him straight in the eye. "Look, I know you've lost a few of your friends, but some of them are still out there trying to save the world and they need you." Logan turned away as he got up to go to the bathroom. He turned on the sink as he washed off the blood from his face and arms. Logan looked at himself in the mirror. His hair was messy and he had a full beard. Logan wore a red 3 button collarless shirt, brown leather jacket with a white fluffy collar, light blue jeans, brown belt with a gold cover buckle, and brown boots. "I know exactly why I keep doing this," said Logan sadly to himself.
"Do you believe in destiny?"
When Logan first came here, he threw his Wolverine suit into the alley's dumpster. He'd figured it would be in the city dump by now and impossible to find. Logan sighed, reminding himself, "The Wolverine died the day Beacon fell." Logan walked out as he sat down at the table next to Doreen. Jennifer was making dinner for the three of them. "Mom once told me you were with people called huntsmen and huntresses," said Doreen. "Is that true, Mister Logan?" Logan looked at Doreen as her innocence and curiosity reminded him of Ruby Rose. Jennifer looked to one side at them as Logan faced down at the table. "Doreen, there's no such thing as huntsmen and huntresses," answered Logan glumly. "All of that is just a bunch of fairytales with no happy endings." Doreen nodded as she felt sorry for him. Jennifer turned away as she resumed cooking dinner.
