Anna Marie and Betsy Braddock were walking together, talking about their lives, which movies were the coolest, and past battles. "If I am going to become an X-Man, I going to need some cool codename," said Betsy. "What were you thinkin' of?" asked Anna. Betsy thought about it and then suggested, "I was thinking maybe... Psylocke. Do you remember when I was able to create pretty cool purple energy weapons with my mind when we started out in our combat classes for the first time?" Anna nodded, "Yeah, ah remember that. Why?" Betsy explained, "Well, during my time at Haven, I gained psychic abilities." Anna offered, "Prove it. Read mah mind." Betsy closed her eyes and touched the side of her head as she tried to concentrate on Anna's mind. Outlines of a purple butterfly appeared around her eyes as it disappeared and Betsy said disappointed, "Sorry, Anne. I cannot read your mind." Anna asked, "How come?" Betsy replied, "No offense, but your mind is hard to access. Apparently it is sort of a mess." Anna shrugged, "Hey, you tried. How about you try someone else?" Betsy turned to see Cardin Winchester and frowned, "This one is thinking perverse thoughts about my posterior. Disgusting waste of human life if you ask me." Anna nodded, "Well, Cardin is that and rest of his team. What's even more bad about him is that he's the leader of his team." Betsy asked, "He's the leader of a team? That is even more worse." Anna and Betsy walked off as Anna asked, "So how's life at Haven?" Betsy answered, "Alright, except I do wish the boys would stop staring at my posterior when I'm doing my schoolwork. Even the girls are jealous of me because I happen to be the prettiest in school. Most of the popular girls are even jealous of me." Anna asked, "How's that?" Betsy listed off, "My accent, my extraordinary purple eyes, my purple hair, even my posterior, and how I get all of the boys' attention. Bloody exhausting if you ask me. Not to mention I am a gifted combatant. I just want a break from it all. Kinda makes me miss the good ole days when I was unpopular with my best friend."

Flashback to 4 years ago
Anna Marie had problems making friends with students at her school. People avoided her because they heard about her sending Ms. Marvel into a coma. During Anna's depression, she wore a sheer long-sleeved green blouse over a black halter top, a short black leather skirt, black leggings, thick combat boots, dog collars around her neck and wrist, and black gloves cover her hands. To top it off, Anna wore purplish-blackish makeup and lipstick. She even cut her long brown hair short. In short, she was called a gothic rogue. Sometimes Anna got into fights with her adoptive mother Glynda Goodwitch. She does for a few hours come back to apologize.

One day, Glynda Goodwitch took Anna to school who was not looking forward to it. The two had already had a fight last night. Anna still felt bad for what she said. Glynda was only trying to help her but Anna kept pushing her away. "Hey," said Glynda gently. "You've been through a hard time, but you know I'm always there for you. I love you, you know." Anna nodded, "Ah know." Glynda smiled, "Have a nice day of school." Anna left as she walked away into the school as students avoided her. Nothing she wasn't used to anyway.

A new student was introduced in Anna's class. She had fair skin, short black hair with purple streaks that was shaved to her left side, hazel eyes, and wore light purple makeup. The new girl wore a black leather vest, a dark blue T-shirt, dark blue pants with a red leather belt, and black boots. The teacher announced, "All right, students. This is Elizabeth Braddock. She is going to be on our class. Elizabeth, please sit next to Anna Marie. Anna, can you raise your hand?" Anna raised her hand as Elizabeth said to the teacher, "I prefer to be called Betsy, please." The teacher nodded. Betsy went to the back and sat next to Anna. As the teacher started her lesson, Betsy whispered, "So why does everyone give you a hard time?" Anna whispered, "Ah don't wanna talk about it." Betsy frowned as she guessed, "Let me guess. You're not used to a lot of company." Anna retorted, "It's not the company, it's me."

Anna Marie sat down on her usual table at lunch alone. To her surprise, Betsy sat down next to Anna. Betsy smiled, "Don't act all surprised. I know somewhere in that grumpy exterior is somebody who needs a friend." Anna's brow cocked as Betsy said, "Hey, I was the freak in my old school because I could make butterflies out of thin air." Anna huffed, "That is nothing compared to what ah have done." Betsy asked, "What was it?" Anna admitted, "Ah accidentally put my boyfriend and Ms. Marvel in a coma." Betsy gasped, "Oh, I am so sorry. I didn't know." Anna sighed as Betsy reassured, "But that doesn't change the fact I want to be your friend." Anna looked at Betsy who smiled at her. For once in a long time, Anna had finally smiled. On that day, Anna and Betsy became friends.

Present day
Anna and Betsy smiled as they remembered how the years went by of their blossomed friendship. "Remember when I made a swarm of butterflies and the school bully Duncan went crazy chasing them when they grabbed his football?" asked Betsy. Anna asked, "Was it also that time when Duncan and the other jocks filled your locker with grape jelly?" Betsy nodded, "Oh, yeah." The two girls laughed at that as they wiped tears from their eyes. Betsy sighed, "I think that was the highlight of our friendship." Anna nodded, "Yeah. Now look at us. Two beautiful girls who used to be nobodies and proud of it." Anna then turned her head only to see a familiar face. She looked with shock as Betsy asked, "What's wrong?" Anna didn't answer as she stared at Ms. Marvel herself.
