RWBY: Logan

The Old Familiar Sting

Tony Stark aka Iron Man, Janet van Dyne aka Wasp, Jane Foster the new Thor, T'Challa aka Black Panther, Clint Barton aka Hawkeye, Hank Pym aka Antman and Natalia were with General Ironwood in front of Avengers Mansion. They saw a HYDRA Jeep drive at the front gates and saw Logan come out with Captain America. The gates opened as they ran down to them. "This guy needs some medical attention right now," said Logan. Ironwood nodded as Thor helped Logan carry Steve into the medical center. Thor checked up on Steve as Logan along with the other Avengers waited outside. Natalia went to Logan and said, "Thank you, коллега, for saving my lover." Logan scoffed at that as T'Challa asked, "Why do scoff at this? You saved the life of Rogers who has been missing for six months." Logan spat, "I didn't even know Cap was even there at the HYDRA base. It was nothing but coincidence. I was next in line for Red Skull's collection. And for sure this time, I will never hurt another living soul." Thor came out and Natalia asked, "Is Steve going to be all right?" Thor smiled as she answered, "Steve is going to be all right." Logan interrupted, "Am I the only one who isn't weirded out about Thor being a lady and a doctor?" Thor explained, "Thor Odinson, the original Thor, passed the title and Mjølnir to me when I was having cancer. He is in Asgard on a quest to feel worthy to wield the hammer again." She removed her helmet revealing her face as she added, "My real name is Jane Foster. I was a paramedic before becoming the new Thor." Logan nodded as Jane turned to Iron Man and said, "Steve is requesting an Avengers meeting in his room." Iron Man replied, "He's been through a lot. He should rest." Jane shrugged, "I told him that, but he's being very insistent." Iron Man sighed as Logan asked, "Got anything for me to drink while you Avengers are busy?" Iron Man sighed, "Yeah, in the kitchen." Logan walked over to the kitchen as he went to the refrigerator and grabbed a glass bottle of beer. "Drinking your pain away, Logan?" asked a familiar voice. Logan nearly dropped it as he turned to see Pyrrha Nikos. "How is this possible?" asked Logan. "Either I'm seeing Pyrrha  in front of me talking to me or I must be more drunk than I thought." Pyrrha frowned, "Logan, have you truly given up on everything?" Logan sighed, "The world isn't the same as it was. It's better off without me. My life has been nothing but blood, hatred, war, suffering, and betrayal." Pyrrha said, "I refuse to believe that you've given up on everything. Logan, sometimes all of us must forgive ourselves for the loss of friends and family and let it inspire us to fight back." Logan replied, "You're not the first one to say that to me and you won't certainly be the last. I'd rather live my life in peace without fighting in someone else's war." He turned to drink his beer as he vowed again, "I will never hurt another living soul for as long as I live." Logan heard no response as he turned to see Pyrrha but she wasn't there. "Lost her again," sighed Logan as he wiped his mouth and beard. "Lost who?" asked Janet van Dyne. Logan shrugged as he answered, "A very special friend of mine was killed six months ago. She saw the best in everyone of us and she was killed in battle. Along with a few others. The reason why I'm a pacifist and still living." Janet looked sorrowful. "I'm so sorry, Logan." The rest of the Avengers showed up as Iron Man said, "Steve wishes for you to become a new Avenger. He sees potential in you. So what do you say?" He handed Logan an Avengers ID card. Logan replied, "I say keep your card, Stark. The days of me popping out my claws is the day I rather die." Logan walked away out of Avengers Mansion leaving the Avengers bewildered by his response. Logan made it to the HYDRA Jeep and checked the briefcase of lien for his delivery job. Ironwood came over to him and asked, "Why did you decline their offer? The real reason?" Logan growled in annoyance as he turned around and answered, "I was hired to deliver packages for Atlas, not to fight for Atlas. I only broke my vow 'cause the time called for it. This time I will never ever again fight. So shove that in your head before I do it for you." He went inside the Jeep and drove full speed to Hulkland. "Hope it's not too late for paying my rent," said Logan to himself.
