Logan walked inside a bar and ordered a few shots as he sat down. Winter sat down next to him as he asked her, "How the hell did I screw things up so bad?" Winter assured, "Nobody could've seen it coming. Not even myself." Logan asked, "Why are you even here?" Winter answered, "The general was wondering where you were. I volunteered to find you. Figured you were here. How's Weiss?" Logan smiled, "Did ya know she has a lovely singin' voice?" Winter nodded, "Of course my father would do this for the Schnee name." She looked at him and observed, "At least you seem a little more like your old self." Logan sighed, "That's what I'm afraid of." Winter asked, "What do you mean?" Logan pinched the sides of his head with his hand and replied, "You know what I mean..." Logan sighed as tears rolled down, "But I ain't that guy anymore, Winter. I love Jennifer, I love Doreen, and I love the life I was carved into. I'm doing this job so I can make my rent so little Doreen doesn't have to see me get beaten again. You gotta believe that. I ain't excited by death anymore." He started to cry as Winter put a gentle arm around him and assured, "It's okay. No one said you were." Cardin and his team were also in the bar as they snickered to one another. Cardin called out, "Hey, lovebirds! I didn't realize it was romantic comedy night!" Enraged, Logan lunged at him on the ground and pressed his right fist under Cardin's chin. He threatened, "Go ahead, bub. Just try to make a joke." Cardin and his team suddenly realized they taunted the Wolverine. Cardin was trembling and Logan heard Winter shouted, "Logan!" Logan got up immediately and walked out of the bar. He muttered, "What the hell did I just do?" Winter came over to him and asked, "What happened? What did they do to you?" Logan didn't answer as he looked at the busy streets of Atlas. He turned around to see Winter and replied, "Get in the Jeep an' I'll tell you." They got into the Jeep and drove toward the Atlas Academy. "The day Beacon fell, when Pyrrha, Wraith, and Penny died," explained Logan. "I decided that the fight against Cinder and her goons wasn't mine. I ran away, then walked through the ruins of Vale, sobbin' an' cryin'. It could'a been days, it could'a been weeks. The crashed cars, whole place smelling like concrete, and the taste o' blood in my mouth. The Grimm were so scared of me. When everything fell apart, it broke me so bad. All I wanted was to hurt myself. Pay a price for everything I've done. So I waited on a freight train and killed the Wolverine." Winter crossed her arms and retorted, "A train couldn't kill you. Not with your healing factor." Logan nodded, "No, but it did hurt. Sometimes that's just enough." A stop light lit up and Logan stopped the Jeep. He added, "Now you try telling me the Wolverine didn't deserve to die. You try telling me I been a fool to hide these claws for six whole months." Winter shook her head and said, "I wouldn't dare." Logan sighed, "I'm a pacifist now. These hands do nothing but clean the dishes, cook meals, prepare tea, and do chores. So don't even think about asking me to fight again. I will never hurt another living soul." Winter nodded as the light turned green and Logan drove toward Atlas Academy.
