She's Like You

Logan woke up with the sun shining through the window and at his eyes. He turned to see Yang laying on his chest snoozing peacefully. Logan wrapped his arm around her waist as he gently kissed the top of her head. Yang moaned, "Mmmm. Logan." She opened up her lilac eyes and tiredly smiled. Yang snuggled deeper and said, "You practically wore me out last night, and that's saying something." Taiyang called, "Breakfast is ready!" The two got up out of bed and got dressed.

Logan and Yang sat down at the table with Taiyang, Port, Oobleck, Jennifer, and Doreen. Jennifer asked teasingly, "Last night, we all heard some moaning and groaning. Do you know anything about that?" The two blushed as they remembered last night. "N-No idea," replied Logan. Yang nodded with agreement. Taiyang glared a little at Logan but calmed down. Port asked, "How is the sheathing of your weapons?" Logan answered, "No more bloody claws thankfully. Sure popping them out hurts, but doesn't hurt as much." Yang put her robotic hand on Logan's and kissed his cheek. Taiyang awkwardly coughed and it made Jennifer laugh. "Overprotective much?" asked Jennifer. Taiyang looked at the Sensational She-Hulk and blushed, "Yang is still my daughter." Jennifer giggles and turns to Logan and Yang. "I hear Patch is doing a festival," said Jennifer. "Why don't you two crazy kids go on out there, hm?" Yang nodded, "Sure. There are some things to sell." She got up and pulled Logan off of his chair as Doreen waved, "See you later, Mister Logan!" Oobleck and Port turned on the TV and the news channel popped up. "Known pimp and drug-trafficker 'Zebra Daddy' has been found dead on the street early this morning," said the reporter. The camera showed the corpse of Zebra Daddy's fatal injuries including his severed arm and slash that reached from his stomach all the way to his throat. "The suspect is at large. Police suggest calling if the perpetrator is found." Jennifer looked at Zebra Daddy on the TV and said, "From the looks of it, I would say a child did this." The grown ups looked at her as she added, "I also took forensics when I was practicing law." Port asked, "If a child did this, then with what weapon?" Taiyang shrugged, "I don't know, but there is something familiar with those slash marks." Jennifer agreed, "Yeah, but maybe we'll figure it out later. For now, change the channel. Doreen's here." Oobleck nodded as he took the remote and changed the channel to Fox Kids.

Logan and Yang packed up and put their things into the HYDRA Jeep. "You stole this, didn't you?" asked Yang, getting in the passenger seat. Logan replied, " A bunch of HYDRA jerks blew up Jennifer's old Jeep. Call it poetic justice." Yang smirked, "Whatever you say, Wolvie.~" Logan smiled, "God, I've missed you, darlin'." She kissed his cheek as he drove off.

The two set up their booth at the festival as Logan decided he needed a new jacket. "Don't take too long, honey," smiled Yang. "I would be very lonely here~" Logan assured, "Won't be long, darlin'" Yang sighed, "You know, I like it when you call me darling." Logan smiled as he leaned forward and kissed Yang. She wrapped her arms around his neck. Then an eight year old girl's voice asked, "Excuse me, are you the Wolverine and Yang Xiao Long?" They separated from their kiss and turned to see the girl. They looked at her with surprise. The girl looked like Yang but had Logan's black hair.

The girl followed Logan as he went jacket shopping in a small convenience store. He then found a brown trench coat with a wide brimmed hat. Logan put both into his shopping bag and he searched for anything else for Yang. He didn't notice the girl slip away to find herself a can of chips, a bottle of apple juice, and then grabbed a pair of sunglasses as she viewed herself in the mirror. A clerk noticed her eating the chips and asked, "You know you gotta pay for that, right?" The girl tried to slip away but the clerk stopped her as he started to take the girl's chips and apple juice away. The clerk was about to take the sunglasses away but the girl grabbed his arm and flipped him over the ground. She snikted her claws as she screamed and was about to stab him but Logan quickly grabbed her arm before she could do it. The girl quickly turned to see him as he berated, "Not. Okay!" Logan grabbed her off of the clerk as he went over to help him up. "I'm so sorry about that. All the items she took, plus the jacket and hat," said Logan. "I'll pay for it." The clerk nodded as he went to the cash register and paid for the items. Logan grabbed the bag and the girl as they left the convenience store. They made it back to the HYDRA Jeep. The girl went into the back seat. Yang was in the passenger seat as she asked, "What happened?" Logan climbed into the HYDRA Jeep and answered, "She happened." Yang repeated, "What happened?" Logan replied, "She attacked a clerk in the convenience store." Yang turned to see the girl was looking away as she was eating her chips and apple juice. "What's your name?" asked Yang. The girl hesitated and answered, "My name is X-23." Logan asked confusingly, "What kind of a name is X-23?" The girl sadly looked out of the window. "X-23 is a name for a machine," said Yang while holding the girl's hand. "You are not a machine. You're a person. What is your real name?" The girl admitted, "There were two people that never called me X-23." Yang asked gently, "What did they call you?" The girl answered, "Laura." Yang smiled, "Laura sounds like a nice name." Laura smiled with tears forming as she said, "Thank you... Mom." Logan nearly hit the breaks as Yang turned to him and asked, "What is it?" Logan replied, " 'Laura' just called you mom." Yang smiled, "I guess that makes you the dad." Logan groaned, "Great." A few minutes later, Laura was playing with the window. Logan grumbled, "Knock it off." Laura ignored him as she kept playing with it. "Does she remind you of anyone?" asked Yang teasingly. Logan frowned, "Shut up." Yang kissed his cheek as they made it to Yang's house.
