The group made it to a populated town called Vista Verde. They paid a parking space as Logan, Jennifer carrying Bruce Jr, and Doreen were walking through the streets. "I know I already asked once," said Logan. "But where are we going?" Jennifer explained, "We're looking for a friend's house. I know they live around here." Logan turned to see Doreen and asked, "Do you know what's she's talking about?" Doreen nodded, "Yeah, we're going to see Uncle Leo and Aunt Betty!" Then her stomach growled. Doreen asked, "Mommy, can we go eat somewhere?" Jennifer stopped and smiled, "Sure, Doreen. Then we'll see Uncle Doc and Aunt Betty." Logan then sees a restaurant called Gamma Burger and declared, "We'll eat here." They went inside as Doreen suddenly squealed and dashed toward a blond haired woman. The woman was surprised as she chuckled, "Doreen?" Doreen smiled, "Aunt Betty!" Betty smiled as she picked Doreen up and hugged her. A burly man with long green hair smiled as he said, "Hey, Doreen." She grinned and hugged him as she said, "Uncle Leo." Jennifer and Logan smiled as he asked, "Are these your friends?" Jennifer replied, "Family." Jennifer and Betty ran to hug each other. Betty cooed at the sight of Bruce Jr. Doreen got down as Jennifer introduced, "Logan, this is Doctor Leonard Sampson and Betty Ross. Doc and Betty, this is Logan, the Wolverine." Leonard asked, "So you're the Wolverine? Even without costume, you definitely look the part." Logan scoffed, "So what's the deal with the green hair?" Jennifer explained, "They both have the gamma semblance. Betty can turn into a Red She-Hulk but Leonard remains in his gamma powered form." Logan nodded in understanding as Betty asked, "You three hungry?" Logan replied, "You have no idea. I'll take a classic Hulk burger if I to." Jennifer chuckled, "You're in for a treat, Logan." Betty also chuckled as she turned to a see the main chef and called, "Hey, Jack Kirby!" Jack asked, "Yeah, Red Shulkie?" Betty ordered lightly, "Give the Wolverine a classic Hulk burger!" Jack clicked his tongue and winked as he said, "You got it, and since the Wolverine's here, it's on the house!" Logan lounged on a rubber bench around a table as Leonard sat next to him. "I saw the news," said Leonard. "The entire Hulk Gang wiped out, including Banner himself." Logan gave no response. Leonard continued, "Banner did unforgivable things when he was poisoned by the meteorite. He hurt Betty, raped Jennifer, beaten Rick, and severed all ties to the Avengers." Logan said, "Yeah, and I had to take beatings for not paying my rent." Leonard sighed, "Yes, but I'm glad that Betty and Rick are doing all right, but I'm concerned for Jennifer." Logan asked, "How come?" Leonard answered, "Much like when you devoted to pacifism, Jennifer refuses to revert back into her human form again." Logan replied, "I know the whole story. Hell, Banner kept boasting about it when we fought."
Jennifer and Betty put Doreen at the playground next door. Bruce Jr was in a baby cot. Betty noticed something about the jade goddess. "Is there something wrong, Jennifer?" asked Betty. Jennifer replied sadly, "How do you change back to human without any nightmares?" Betty changed into her Red She-Hulk form. She looked the same as Jennifer's She-Hulk form, except she had red skin, glowing yellow eyes, and black hair with red streaks. "The same way I can change into Red She-Hulk," answered Betty. "Know the people in my life are always there for me when I need them." Betty held Jennifer's hand as she added, "It's alright. Just do it with me." Jennifer nodded as they both closed their eyes. Betty's comforting hand helped Jennifer move pass her nightmares as they fully transformed back into human. Jennifer opened her eyes to look at her fair skinned hands. She smiled so brightly she hugged Betty hard. "Mommy, is that you?" asked Doreen. Jennifer turned to see Doreen and smiled. Doreen saw that her adopted mother was the same height as Betty's human form but with short brown hair and gentle brown eyes. Jennifer nodded, "Yes, it is me." She hugged Doreen so much tears ran down Jennifer's eyes. "I love you so much, Doreen," smiled Jennifer. She released as the female group turned to see Leonard and Logan. Logan had already finished his classic Hulk burger as Leonard asked, "Is everyone ready to go home?"
They went to Leonard and Betty's house and were given permission to stay the night. Logan was having trouble sleeping. His mind was troubled with nightmares.
"Noooo!" yelled Logan as he freed himself from Sabretooth's headlock. Logan was too late to react when Cinder pierced an arrow through Pyrrha.
Logan suddenly kneeled down and positioned his throat to the railing. He then allowed the train to ride over his neck, leaving a bloody mess on his uniform and the train tracks. Logan lost consciousness as the wheels continued to tear through his uniform and neck until the train rode away.
The Hulk grabbed Logan and hit him on the ground several times. The Hulk then grabbed his arms and legs with both hands and bit into Logan. He cried out in anguish as Hulk began eating him.
Logan woke up as his face was covered in sweat. He climbed himself out of bed as he walked over to the living room and sat on a couch. Logan faced the fireplace and was broken out of musings when Leonard asked, "Can't sleep?" Logan acknowledged, "Yeah. Dreams keeping me awake." Leonard studied him as he said, "By the looks of you, it was more than dreams. Even nightmares. It seems you are troubled by something that has happened." Logan shook his head as he replied, "I don't want to talk about it." Leonard started, "Logan...." Logan snapped, "Just stop!" Leonard was unfazed by this as he said, "Logan, it's better to talk about it than try to block it away." Logan sighed, "How can I? Everyone already knows what happened six months ago. The day Beacon fell. The day three of my friends died. The day we lost the world to an evil I can't well imagine." Leonard reminded, "The world isn't lost yet. There are still some people left fighting back. All you need is to accept that fact and choose to be with them." Leonard walked back to his bedroom with Betty as Logan contemplated on this.
Logan went over to the bathroom and shaved his thick beard to his normal one six months ago. He even fixed his hair back to normal. Logan walked out of the bathroom and stopped as he looked at Pyrrha's spirit sitting on the couch. "Pyrrha?" asked Logan. She smiled, "Are you all right now?" Logan answered, "Yeah." Pyrrha nodded as she said, "Then my work is done. Good luck, Wolverine." Logan said, "If you're the real deal or some kind of ghost, it's nice to see you again." Pyrrha smiled as she nodded and faded away. Logan sighed, "Goodbye." Logan turned to see Doreen as she tiredly asked, "Who were you talking to?" Logan smiled, "An old friend. Now, let's get you back to bed, Squirrel Girl." He carried her over to her bedroom as night continued to fall. The Wolverine was now reborn.
