I Would Keep Myself

Six months earlier, Beacon Academy:
The destruction of Beacon Academy so great even Captain America himself was wounded and stuck on debris. The Red Skull walked over to him and heard Captain America mumbling something. Red Skull taunted, "What are you whispering, Captain? Is it a prayer?" He looked down at the fallen Captain and smirked, "Well, there is no God here today. Just me." Red Skull looked over at the abyss of the chaos and sighed, "This day was unforeseeable even by the next generation of huntsmen and huntresses. But not by HYDRA. The Fraulein Cinder Fall grouped everyone of us to meet a dame who calls herself Salem. She promised everyone of us that the world will be ours for the taking." Red Skull turned to see the Captain struggling to get free from the debris and taunted, "So you see Captain America, there is no more hope for Remnant. The world is ours now. Who would want it now?" Red Skull leaned toward the Captain and began to pull off his mask. Red Skull smiled, "Shh. Don't get upset. It'll all be over soon."

Present day, HYDRA base:
Red Skull wore Captain America's uniform under his leather trench coat as he looked in his trophy room. He looked up to see Captain America's shield. Red Skull mused, "Even now I'd beat you. Even in my age I'm still strong." His second in command Heinz came inside as Red Skull took notice and acknowledged, "My wife thinks I'm morbid, Heinz. But I consider his uniform the most glorious of all our prizes. The ancients wore the skins of their fallen foes. Why shouldn't I be allowed my eccentricities?" Heinz replied, "The agents have the corpse you requested, Herr Skull. Should I tell them you're unavailable?" Red Skull responded, "Just send them in." The HYDRA agents led by Crossbones brought in Logan's corpse inside. "This the guy you were looking for?" asked Crossbones. Red Skull nodded, "Ah, yes. You've done well, Mr. Rumlow. I will see to it that you will be rewarded for bringing me the Wolverine." He turned to Heinz and ordered, "Contact Mr. Essex and tell him that his prize is here." Heinz nodded as he went to a nearby telephone and called. After a short talk, Heinz came back and reported, "Mr. Essex says he will send agents to retrieve the body and in exchange he will give Wolverine to you as a part of your collection, Herr Skull." Red Skull smiled, "Excellent." One of the HYDRA agents asked, "Are these things for real?" Red Skull nodded, "Oh, yes. This is my trophy room. This is where I make decisions. What better place for inspiration than here among the corpses of my enemies?" Crossbones unwrapped the cloth covering Logan's bloodied and bulleted body. Crossbones smirked under his mask, "He wasn't so tough." Unexpectedly, Logan shot his foot up and kicked Crossbones's private part in between his legs. Crossbones groaned as he withered in pain on the floor. Logan got up and roared in rage. He punched Heinz in the face and grabbed a chair hit the HYDRA agent. Logan turned to see Red Skull and snarled, "You're goin' down, Skull." Red Skull chuckled, "This is a surprise. I thought you walked the path of the righteous man these days, Wolverine. Is this because we killed your little friend?" Logan glared at him knowing Red Skull was referring to Pyrrha Nikos. Without thinking, Logan swung at Red Skull but missed. Red Skull punched him and Logan flew into Red Skull's collection. Red Skull taunted, "Look at you. You're not just out of shape. You won't even pop out your adamantium claws anymore. Oh, what did we do to you, Wolverine?" Logan began to get up but Red Skull hit him hard while adding, "You're pathetic!" Logan flew into another section of Red Skull's collection. Red Skull activated steel ramps that blocked the exit of the trophy room. He grabbed a sword and lifted it up. "You should have stayed in whatever hole you crawled into, little arschkriecher," smirked Red Skull. "At least that way you could have died in your bed." He swung down but Logan quickly grabbed Captain America's shield and deflected the blade. Red Skull gawked with shock and was too late to react as Logan hit him with the shield. Logan hit him again and again until Red Skull crashed into a third section of his collection. "Stay down you son of a bitch!" yelled Logan. Red Skull was on the ground as Logan came over to him and raised the shield. Red Skull chuckled, "Don't make me laugh. You haven't got the guts." Logan then decapitated the Red Skull's head with the shield, ending the evil of the Red Skull once and for all. Logan turned to look at Crossbones but noticed he wasn't there. He then heard a HYDRA soldier from across the steel ramp say, "Everyone back! We need to blow the doors." Logan frantically looked around to find what could be used as a weapon. He then saw Iron Man's boots and a repulsor gauntlet, a Miló, and a Magnhild. Logan smiled as he came up with a plan.

The ramp blew open and HYDRA soldiers came inside. Then they paused to see Logan, all weaponed up and ready.

Logan raised his left arm which had Iron Man's repulsor gauntlet and blasted one of them. The rest of soldiers began firing but the gunfire was being deflected by the shield. Logan then grabbed the Miló and converted it into its rifle mode and fired at them. After shooting all of the soldiers, Logan ran out and threw the shield at another HYDRA soldier. He then transformed the Miló into its javelin mode and threw it through the soldier's throat. That caught the attention of more HYDRA soldiers. Logan then grabbed the Magnhild and transformed it into its grenade launcher mode. "Eat grenades, fuckers!" shouted Logan with an animalistic smile. He shot at them and the grenades exploded, killing them. More HYDRA soldiers came out as Logan reverted the Magnhild to hammer mode and activated the boots as he toward them. He swung at them hard and stopped flying. A HYDRA agent tried to shoot him but Logan hit the hammer's end on the HYDRA soldier's knee, hit the rifle away, and kicked the HYDRA soldier to the ground. He then smashed the soldier's head with the Magnhild as blood splattered on the floor and walls. After making sure that every last HYDRA soldier and agent was dead, Logan walked back into the trophy room and grabbed the briefcase full of lien. He took off the boots and repulsor gauntlet and was on his way out until he heard a noise. Logan listened again as he heard tapping. It sounded like Morse code. "Under... floor... please... get... me... out....," translated Logan. He smashed the floor and saw a familiar face. It looked like... Captain America?!! The former captain didn't look so good. He muttered, "Name: Steven Rogers. Rank: Captain. Serial number: 54985780." Logan jumped down as Steve repeated the same thing. "You look like crap, Cap," remarked Logan. Steve looked to see him and remembered, "You're... the Wolverine from Beacon." Logan shrugged, "Was. Now how about getting you out of here?" Steve nodded as Logan carried him out of the HYDRA base. They went to the garage and found a HYDRA Jeep. "I owe Jennifer a Jeep after HYDRA destroyed hers," murmured Logan. He placed Steve in the passenger seat and the briefcase and shield in the back. Logan got the keys and started the HYDRA Jeep. They drove off as Logan said, "Next stop, Avengers Mansion."
