"Before you take me home I'm getting some caffeine. You need anything?" I get out of the car.

"No, I'm good." He walks over to the pump. I walk inside the gas station and grab Monster Energy drink. The fruit punch one is my favorite. I walk down the candy section and grab a pack of Sour Patch Kids. I then walk up to the counter as the cashier rings up my stuff.

"10.47." The cashier says. I hand her a twenty dollar bill. After she gives me my change back I put it back in my wallet. She grabs a plastic bag to put my items in. But I shake my head and stop her.

"I can put inside my bag. No need to waste the bag on me." She nods her head as I grab my stuff and walk out.

When I look up to see Derek pumping gas two cars pull up next to him. Three men get out of the car and stand near him. Derek takes the pump out of the car and screws the cap back.

"This can't be good." I mutter under my breath. One of the guys I recognize to be Allison's father walks up to the car and cleans the windshield. I walk over to the car and stand next to Derek.

"Nice ride. Black cars, though. Very hard to keep clean. I would definitely suggest a little more maintenance. If you have something this nice, you want to take care of it, right? Personally, I'm very protective of the things I love. But that's something I learned from my family. And you don't have much of that these days. Do you?" Allison's father says. He wipes down the windshield then smirks at Derek. Derek's jaw clenches as he balls his fist up.

"Derek." I whisper quietly. I grab his arm trailing my hand to his. He loosens it as I grasp it. Chris grins dangerously at me.

"Lucky to have a girl like that. She shouldn't be here right now." Chris smirks.

"Sure is special." One of the guys says. I could feel Derek shaking with anger as I trace my thumb against the back of his hands. He stopped shaking and gripped my hand. Allison's father smirks at me as I stood there calmly.

"There we go. You can actually look through your windshield now. See how that makes everything so much clearer?" Chris walks over to his guys.

"You forgot to check the oil." Derek says sternly.

"Check the man's oil." Chris says as one of his guys comes up to the car and smashes the driver side window.

"Looks good to me." The guy says.

"Drive safely." Chris tells us. Then men get into their cars and drive off as I watch them go.

"What are they?"

"Hunters. They killed our families. I should have dropped you off at your house." Derek says.

"They didn't hurt us." I state.

"They could have. Now they know I'm protecting you." Derek says as we get back into the car.

"Protecting me? I don't need protection."

"You do. You haven't gotten your abilities yet. They know you are alive and most likely coming after you next. I'm dropping you off at your house."

"What? No, you said it yourself, you need to protect me. The hunters will be coming after me. You leave me alone that's an open chance for them too. Grand has bingo tonight. You told Scott to go to the bus. Stiles will be going with him. I don't have anyone else." I grab his hand.

"Please. I'm not going to sit around my house and reread all the books I have in there. I'm not going to sit around and look up math problems for me to do. Because that's what I do when I'm bored. And I don't want to seem more of a nerd than I already am. I just told you I'm a nerd." My voice trails off.

Great job Lexy. Let's tell the guy that you are crushing on that you are a nerd. I'm sure he'll appreciate that. Oh god, I just admitted to myself I'm crushing on him. Get yourself together. Derek chuckles lightly as I look at him questioningly. Is he laughing at me or is he laughing because of the words that are coming out of my mouth? Or is he laughing because I'm a nerd? Oh God, what am I doing with my life.

"Alright, you can come. You stick with me." His face gets serious.

"Yes sir, Mr.Wolf." I wink as we drive off to the hospital. We get to the hospital as I leave my bag inside the car. We go through the back door. I remember this place like the back of my hand. Scott and I would always come here to visit mama McCall.

"He's going to be in ICU." I tell Derek as we walk down the hall.

"I can get his scent. Once we get to that area." Derek says.

"Alright." We get to the ICU wing of the hospital. Derek closes his eyes and sniffs around.

"This way." I follow Derek close behind as he enters a room. Room 136. I stood in the door next to the door and I shut it quietly. Derek hands before the guy that lays down in the bed. Yes, this was the guy. He looked horrible with his bandages running all over him.

"Open your eyes. Open your eyes. Look at me." Derek tells the guy. The guy lifts his head up as his eyes dart all over the room then come to a stop staring at Derek.

"What do you remember?" Derek asked.

"Hale." The bus driver gasped.

"How do you know my name?" Derek looked puzzled.

"I'm sorry." The bus driver says quietly.

"How do you know me?"

"I'm sorry." The guy repeats then lays his head back on the pillow closing his eyes. Derek stares down at him. The beeping sound turns to a blank line. He's dead. Derek didn't move, all he did was stand there and look at the dead man. I knew at some point doctors and nurses were going to rush in here and try to save this man but there was no use of saving him. I walk over to Derek and tug on his arm lightly.

"We gotta go. They'll be here soon." I say quietly as Derek nods his head. We take the back hall to avoid mama McCall and a few other nurse rushing into the room we just came out of. We get outside and walk over to the car. Once we get into the car to drive us back to his house.

"Guess I'm not going home." I tell him. He then realizes that I am still in the car. He shifts to reverse as I grab his hand to stop him.

"If its ok with you, I can stay the night at your house. There is no point of driving back out when we are already here. Besides Isabella wont be home to let me inside." I shrug my shoulders. Derek nods his head.

"Its fine." He says as we get out of the car and head into the house. Derek leads me up to the bedroom as he goes to his dresser drawer and throws me a t-shirt.

"You don't have any clothes with you. It's going to be uncomfortable sleeping in that. Might be big on you but its all I have." I look down at my denim skirt overalls. Hell I could just wear my leggings and long sleeve shirt to bed. But he did offer a t-shirt so I will take it.

"Its perfect. Thank you." I flash a smile at him as he walk over to me. He reaches up to my head and pulls a piece of glass out of my hair.

"Oh would you look at that. You saved me." I laughed as he chuckles.

Our laughter dies down as I look at him more closely. How did I end up crushing on him? When did I? First time I ever met him he was a murderer. He was a killer. Now all he wants to do is protect me and be around me. Bad first impression. He sets the glass on the table next to me then reaches up to my face. I felt as if I was in a trance. Every move he made I went deeper and deeper into the dream like moment. His face got closer and closer to mine as I breath slowly and calmly. Then his lips connect to mine. They were chapped yet warm and soft. I could feel his tongue tracing my lips wanting to go deeper and I let him. His hands press on my lower back as my hands trail up to his chest. I gripped onto his leather jacket pulling him closer to me.
