I walk into the school and see Scott at his locker. The twins surrounded him.
"What are you guys, his body guards?"
"Something like that." Aiden smirks.
"We should be protecting you too." Ethan says as I roll my eyes.
"Okay, one thing first. I need to talk to Stiles and let him know everything that happened last night. Without you." Scott says.
"Your leaving the twins and taking me." I look at him sternly as he nods his head.
"No." One of the twins says.
"Yes. And I don't want you listening in. No wolf hearing." Scott says.
"How would you even know?"
"I'm a true Alpha. You have no idea what I can do." Scott smirks. We meet up with Stiles in front of the chemistry classroom. We walk inside.
"So then she starts talking about phosphors and the key having chemicals on it, right? And so that made me think of the chemistry closet and the fact that someone had to let Barrow in." Stiles stops dead in his tracks staring at the blackboard.
"It's gone. Okay, it doesn't matter though. It doesn't matter. I've still got the key." Stiles pulls out his keys and walks over to the chemical closet.
"What the hell? I had it I had it here. I had it here this morning, I swear to God, I had it this morning." Stiles looks at his keys.
"The key you were talking about last night?" Scott asked him.
"Yeah, I showed it to you, right? Didn't I show it to you?"
"No, you just told me about it. I never actually saw it." Scott says.
"I was here a couple of hours ago. And the message left to Barrow spelling Kira's name was right there on the board in my handwriting and I had the key to the chemistry closet." Stiles says looking back at the board.
"So you unlocked the chemistry closet so Barrow could hide in it from the cops and then you wrote him a message to kill Kira?" Scott asked.
"I know how it sounds But look at this. This is the news report that came out about Barrow when they caught him, okay? About the shrapnel bomb that he used. See this? See what he did? He put nuts, bolts and screws. And then he hid the bomb and the detonator in a box that he wrapped as a birthday present. What does that sound like to you?" Stiles shows us. What is going on with him?
"Coach." Scott and I both say.
"The joke we played on Coach. That was my idea. You remember? That was my idea. That's no coincidence. It can't be." Stiles shakes his head.
"I don't want to sound like I'm trying to tell you that you're wrong. But I don't think you're trying to kill people either." Scott admits
"Why are you trying to blame this on you? The killing, barrow, keys and supplies closet. Why would you set yourself up for all this trouble?" I asked.
"I don't know." He looks at me. I could see the dark circles under his eyes. He hasn't been sleeping.
"It was here. It was all here." Stiles repeats.
"Dude, are you feeling okay? You're looking really tired." Scott notices.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just haven't been sleeping really." Stiles says.
"Why don't you go home? Take a sick day or something." Scott tells him. I know I told Derek I was going to school but Stiles can't drive home by himself.
"Here, I'll drive you home." I hold my hand out as he jumps the keys in my hand. We get into the jeep as I drive us toward his house.
"Can you take me to the hospital. I wanna get checked out." Stiles asked. I look him up and down. He might actually be sick.
"Yeah. Ok." I nod my head as we head over to the hospital.
"Dr. Gardner's not back until next week. Do you want to try waiting for one of the urgent care doctors or Stiles. Are you all right?" We were stand at the front desk talking to mama McCall. She walks over to him as I help hold him up. He was losing his balance.
"I don't know. I guess I guess not really." He was starting breathing harshly.
"All right, kiddo. All right. Come with me. It's okay." Mama McCall and I take him to a room and sit him on the bed. I stand next to him closely. She started asking him questions about symptoms.
"Blackouts. But not for that long. And sleepwalking, which I used to do a lot as a kid. Um Also having some really bad anxiety." Stiles listed.
"Panic attacks?" She asked.
"Yeah, a couple. Oh, and I temporarily lost the ability to read. But that might have had more to do with this giant magic tree and a whole human sacrifice thing." He mumbles.
"I recall something vaguely about that, yes." She nods her head.
"I do." I mutter.
"How many hours of sleep are you getting?" She asked.
"Eight." He answers.
"A night?"
"In the last three days. Yeah, definitely eight." He tires to count on his fingers. I grab his hands and hold them tightly. He looks up at me.
"Its ok." I whispered.
Been feeling irritable?" She asked.
"Yeah. Possibly to the point of homicide." He licks his lips
"Inability to focus?"
"No, the Adderall's not working." He says.
"Impulsive behavior?"
"More than my usual? Hard to tell." He sighs.
"Vivid dreams during the day?"
"Okay, basically all of the above. Do you know what this is?" He asked as she walks back.
"I think so." She hums. Mama McCall turns to him with a needle.
"Uh, what's that?" He leans away.
"Do you trust me?" She asked.
"When you're not holding a needle." Stiles looks at her uneasy as I help hold him down.
"It's Midazolam. A sedative." She puts it in his arms.
"Why'd you give me a sedative?" He asked.
"Because you, Stiles, are one profoundly sleep-deprived young man. You need rest and you need it now. Lie down." Mama McCall lays Stiles down on the bed.
"Okay, how long's it take to Oh. Not long at all." He falls to the bed as mama McCall covers him.
"Get some rest." She whispers.
"Thanks, Mom." He mumbles before falling asleep. She looks down at him then turns the lamp off. We both walk out of the room.
"Is he gonna be alright?" I asked mama McCall. She shakes her head.
"I don't know. Symptoms show his mom's case. I'll have to look into it. You need sleep to Alexis. Go home." I nod my head.
