A week had passed as Peter and Derek both look for Kate. There was no sign of her. I was still freaking out over the fact that my Powers my abilities didn't work on those creatures the Berserkers. Lacrosse tryouts were coming up. They were renewing everyone's position. Derek didn't seem like his self. Especially the whole eye color thing was bothering him. Kate took that away from him. So we had to find Kate. I knew one person that was good at finding people.
"That table's Italian." Peter says as leather boots slammed down on the table.
"So are these boots. Are we going to talk interior designing fashion or are we going to talk numbers?" Braeden says. Peter scribbles down numbers on a piece of paper and passes it to Braeden. She scratches out the number Peter wrote down and rewrites a new number. She slides the paper back to Peter.
"We're hiring you to find Kate, not assassinate the President." Peter scoffs looking at her.
"I was hired by the Calaveras to find Kate. You're hiring me to find her first. Going against the Calaveras is what's going to cost you." She tells him.
"We'll pay. Just find Kate, that's all we want." After Braeden leaves Derek walks over to a table and leans across it. I stand beside him as Peter slams the door shut.
"Are you insane?" Peter shouts.
"We don't have a choice. We spent a week looking for her and came up with nothing." Derek says with his back to us.
"If we don't find out, who told Kate about the vault, we don't get those bonds back! What do you think I'm gonna do then, huh? Get a job? My resume is slightly out of date. We got robbed, Derek. Robbed!" Peter rants and yells as he walks up behind Derek. He clasp a hand on his shoulder as Derek spins around and grabs Peters wrist. He wolves out, glowing his yellow eyes and roars loudly.
"Derek." I start as Derek shifts back.
"Oh, that's a new look for you. What happened to your eyes?" Peter asked as Derek shoves him off.
"I don't know. But I'm willing to pay to find out." Derek says.
"Braeden will find Kate and if she can't we'll figure something." I walk up to Derek and kiss his cheek.
"Where are you going?" Derek asked.
"School." I kiss his lips then head for the door.
"What about me princess?" Peter asked. I could hear Derek growl lowly as I smirked. I throw his Italian table at him, shrugged my shoulders and head out of the apartment.
I head straight for the lacrosse field waiting for morning practice. Coach comes jogging over with the players right behind him.
"Nice of you to make it on time today Carson." Coach says.
"I missed you so much Coach." I smiled.
"Yeah, yeah sure you did. Guys, this is Carson. She is assistant manager. She says run a lap, you ask how far? She say push up, you ask how many? She says anything you do it. Any questions?" Coach says looking over the players. A few of the players I recognized shoot me a smile as the others seemed not too sure.
"A girl?" One of the players I don't recognize scoffs. My head snaps in their direction.
"Run a lap." I say quickly. The guy doesn't move. Coach blows the whistle.
"Go on." The coach whistles again as the guy sighs deeply.
"How far?" He smirks.
"Until you break a sweat." I narrow my eyes at him. He then takes off for the track.
"That's my girl. Alright lets practice on goal and passing." Coach whistles taking a few of the guys leaving me with half.
"Push ups." I say loudly.
"How many?" They all asked. A smile appears on my face. I am their goddess.
"Til I say stop." Out of the corner of my eyes I could see a kid in goal never missing a shot. I walk over to Coach forgetting about the push up guys.
"Who's that?" I asked.
"Who? Goalie?" coach asked.
"Yeah." The kid had fast reflexes.
"Don't know and don't care." He hands the clipboard to me as I take them and walk back to the push up guts. Some of them were kneeling down breathing heavily as the others sat there.
"Did I say stop?" I asked them. They shake their head as they go back to it. I look over the charts and see pictures with names. The goalie was Liam Dunbar. A freshman. That was impossible unless he was a werewolf. I could see Scott and Stiles moving onto the field.
"Alright run a lap for a half mile then go practice passing team of two. You pick your partners." I run off to my two idiots as the push up guys collapse on the grass.
"You've seen this?" Stiles points at Liam.
"Yeah, new guy. Freshman and his name is Liam." I tell them. After practice we head down to the locker room.
"Hey, Liam. You want to explain what that was out there?" Stiles studies the kid.
"What do you mean?" Liam asked.
"That little display. Your little circus act."
"What circus act?" Liam asked confused.
"You caught every shot." Stiles smiles.
"I was in goal." Liam tells us.
"Yeah, but nothing, not a single shot got past you." Stiles says.
"Yeah, I was the goalie. You guys played this game before?" Liam asked. I cant tell if that's sarcasm or not. Everything is sarcastic because of Stiles.
"You're a freshman, right?" Scott asked. I already told you this.
"Yeah." Liam says.
"But you weren't here last semester." Stiles notes.
"I transferred from Devenford Prep." Liam says.
"You transferred?" Scott looked at Liam suspiciously.
"Yeah." Liam nods his head.
"No, you got kicked out, didn't you?" Scott looks at him. He could tell that he lied.
"All right. Look! Kicked out or transferred, what do you guys care? I came here to play lacrosse. The team could use a few good players, right?" Liam says.
"No. No, we don't need any more good players." Stiles denies.
"Actually, we could sort of use a couple." Scott gives in.
"I'm still working them in." I shrug my shoulders.
"Okay, how'd you get this good? Have you always been this good? Or did it suddenly happen just once over night."stiles says as my eyes widened.
"Stiles." I say quietly not drawling any attention.
"Have you ever been out in the middle of the woods during the night of a full,"
"Stiles." Scott looks at him
"Hmm. Look, I learned from my stepfather, all right? He made team captain when he was a sophomore. Like you. And yeah... I guess I'm just that good. See you around, yeah?" Liam says as he smirks at me. He then walks off.
"If only you knew my boyfriend." I roll my eyes.
"He wasn't lying that time." Scott says impressed.
