what are we doing

After school I walk home and grab a pair of leggings. It was getting chilly outside. After putting on the leggings I walk to Derek's house. Spending some time with him. That's what he wanted. And I wasn't going to complain. I did enjoy hanging out with him. I don't know what it is with me. The first I was told I was supposed to stay away from him because he supposably killed someone. But some reason I can't stay away anymore. I don't know what it is. I just feel the urge to be around him all the time.

I walk inside the house and drop my bag off next to the door. I look around the house to find Derek and see him in the middle section of the stairs.

"Hey you." I smiled climbing up the stairs.

"Hey." He smiles back.  His eyes look behind me as his head raises up a little. As if he was listening to Something in the distance. His smile soon fades away, grabs my hand and pulls me up the stairs into a different room.

"What's wrong?" I asked as he lets go of my hand and looks out the window.
"Someone is coming." He says in a hushed tone. A police car pulls up I'm parked. The dog was hanging in the back seat as a single police officer gets out of the car and stares at the house.

"It looks pretty deserted, dispatch. Did you want me to take a look inside?" The police officer says into his walkie.

"Unit 16, it's county property. Order's to make sure it's vacant." The operator says back.

"I don't - I don't think anyone's home." The police officer says.

"For the love of God, 16, go inside and see if anyone's there."

"Copy that." The officer says as he puts his walkie back on his shoulder and walks closer to the house. Derek stares at the dog and makes his eyes glow. It's weird, Scott's eyes glow yellow Derek's eyes glow blue. I wonder why. The dog starts barking.

"Don't do that." The officer looks at the dog and continues walking up to the house. Derek stares off dark very more intensely as the dog starts freaking out and making defensive barking noises. He tries to climb out of the window. The officer looks at the dog then at the house and runs back over to the car.

"Okay, I'm coming. I'm coming." The officer mumbles to himself and the dog. He gets back into the car and drives off.

"How did you do that?"

"Practice." He says. He looks back out the window. Scott was walking out of the woods standing in front of the house.

"I know you can hear me. I need your help." Scott says. I look at Derek as he nods his head and walks downstairs. I follow after him.

"Stay inside." Derek says.

"Why?" I looked at him puzzled.

"He needs to tell me himself. If he looks at you he'll freeze up. He doesn't know about us yet." Derek says.

"Ok." I stand by the window as he goes out of the house. Scott stood on the porch.

"Okay. I know I was part of you getting arrested and that we basically announced you being here to the hunters. I also don't know what happened to your sister. But I think I did something last night. I had a dream about - someone. But someone else got hurt. And it turns out that part of the dream might have actually happened." Scott tells Derek.

"You think you attacked the driver?" Derek's voice echoed.

"Did you see what I did last night?" Scott exclaimed.

"No." Derek says.

"Can you at least tell me the truth? Am I gonna hurt someone?" Scott asked concerned.

"Yes." Derek says.

"Could I kill someone?"

"Yes."  I couldn't believe that Scott would kill someone. It wasn't in his nature. He feels bad when he bumps into people. But I guess being a werewolf could change everything about you. The way you react to things and the way that you think of things.

"Am I gonna kill someone?" Scott's eyes widened.

"Probably." Derek says as Scott takes in all in and leans against the porch post.

"Look, I can show you how to remember. I can show you how to control the shift, even on a full moon. But it's not gonna come for free." Derek tells him.

"What do you want?" Scott shakes his head.

"You'll find out. But for now, I'm gonna give you what you want. Go back to the bus. Go inside. See it, feel it. Let your senses - your sight, smell, touch - let them remember for you."

"That's it? Just - just go back?" Scott asked.

"Do you want to know what happened?"

"I just want to know if I hurt him."

"No, you don't. You want to know if you'll hurt her." Derek says. How to explain him everything he needed to do Scott left. Derek comes back inside the house shuts the door quickly. He looks over at me as I nod my head.

"He's gonna do it. He needs you." I look back out the window.

"He's only doing it for the girl."

"Wouldn't you?" I look at him. He seemed taken back but gave some thought to it.

"If you care about someone in the exact way Scott feels about Allison, you would do the same thing. You wouldn't want to put them in danger. Even if it means to stay away from them. Until you know you can control it." I sighed. Derek reaches in his coat pocket and pulls out his keys.

"Lets go." We head outside and look for his car. He had to hide it from the officer. Once we found the car we drive to a gas station.

"What are you going to do?" I asked.

"Get some gas, drop you off and make a few errands." He takes his sunglasses off.

"I can help. I'll go with you."

"No." He says.

"Why? You can't just leave me at the house alone. Bella is working tonight." I scoffed.

"You can't just go with me either. I'm going to the hospital to talk to the guy."
