Here, the reader is in high school and around the same age as Peter. She also knows about Peter being Spider-man. Possible fluff ahead.

This one-shot is written as a tribute to those studying for finals week. Enjoy.

It was that time of the year again, the one nearly everyone dreads: semester finals. And no one was more nervous about the exams than you were. You felt a lot was on the line for your classes; especially science.

Luckily, you were good friends with Peter Parker. Since meeting him, the two of you would often get together to study for tests or finish homework assignments. Usually you studied together at his house; much as your father thought Peter is a nice kid, he doesn't trust him to be around his daughter.

With the semester finals around the corner, you and Peter met each other to study pretty much everyday after school. Although, if you were being honest with yourself, you didn't always need Peter around to help you. Sure you struggled a little with science every once in a while, but other than that, you usually got pretty good grades.

Truth be told, you sometimes lied about having trouble with certain subjects because you liked having Peter around. Even before you found out that he was Spider-man, you always had a little crush on him. Your friends thought you were crazy, but hey, the heart wants what the heart wants.

On the night before your first final, you were getting ready to go to bed. When you walked into your bedroom, you turned on the bedside lamp only to find Peter sleeping in your bed.

This actually wasn't a bug surprise to you at this point; every once in a while Peter would crash at your place after a late night taking down bad guys as Spider-man. Although he usually slept on the floor.

"Wake up, Peter," you gently shake his shoulder. "Hmmm? Oh, hey (y/n)." "What brings you here this time of night?" you ask "Late night bank robbery, didn't feel like swinging home since your place is closer." he said with sleep laced in his voice. "Why in my bed, though?"

"First final is tomorrow, I want to be rested, and your bed is comfortable." "Alright, fair enough. Scoot over." Peter moves about enough for you to get into bed.

"If my dad catches you in here, he'll chase you out of the house with a shotgun," you say as you turn off the lamp. "Don't worry, I'll be gone long before he finds out," he lets out yawn, "You're a good friend, by the way (y/n)," he says falling back to sleep. You, on the other hand stayed awake for a little while longer. If only you could be able to confess your true feelings to Peter. Even though you knew he wouldn't hear it, you felt you needed to say it, "I like you more than a friend, Peter Parker, " you finally fall asleep.

When you woke up the next morning, Peter was gone. At first, you thought you dreamt the whole, but a vague, yet familiar, scent on the pillow he slept on told you otherwise. You laid in bed for a bit, breathing in that scent, but then practically jumped out of bed when you remembered you had to get ready for school. There you got through the first final without hesitation thanks to those study sessions with Peter.

You didn't see Peter until after school, which was odd since you usually saw him in the hallway in between classes or at least at lunch; it almost felt like you were trying to avoid you.

"Hey, Peter" you called out, "Where were you, I hadn't seen you all day." "Oh, uh..." Peter hesitates "how did you do on the exam?" "I aced it," you say, "but seriously, Peter why haven't I seen you? I thought I would I at least have seen you straight afterwards. Have you been avoiding me?"

"It's not like that," Peter says defensively, "It's just...the other night it sounded like...it sounded like...you like me more...than a friend?" "You heard?" you felt your face turn red.

"Sort of, I was still falling asleep and I wasn't sure if I heard right." At this point you were pretty sure your face was just as red as his. "Is what you said true?" "Well...yeah" you finally admit, "I should also probably confess that half the times you we had study sessions together I didn't actually need help."

"Oh, I already knew about that." Peter confessed. "What? How?" you asked surprised and confused. "The times I stopped by your place at night, I sometimes saw grades on old papers." explains. "Than why help me continue this charade?" you ask

"Well...it's that...I've been wanting to be more than just friends too." You had a hard time taking this statement in. "How long have you wanted this?" you ask shyly. "Almost a month." was his response.

The two of you stand there in awkward silence for a few minutes before Peter speaks up, "Maybe after the finals...maybe we could...you know..." "We could go to the zoo," you quickly say. "Yeah. The zoo sounds good, I like that." was his response.

"It's a date than." you smiled
